Please give away your tickets to Rutgers fans if you don't go. Be charitable and considerate all at once. This is a public service message, thank you.

it should be around 45 degrees at kickoff. Wit our season deflated I can see many fans selling tickets and watching on tv. While 45 is not too too cold it can be annoying if there is a wind. Also, for those with kids it is probably not an ideal weather situation for 3-4 hours outside.

This is part of the reason why the SEC and B12 have a fan advantage in November games since they get warmer temps for the fans.

If and When Rutgers finally gets its finances in line we may be a good school where a retractable dome would make sense or at least some improvements for the fans to keep them out of rain / elements.

Being nice sounds about right for the Nits that act respectfully. But those that don't deserve both barrels shoved up their butt.
I doubt any other school has a thread started in one of their message boards asking
the loyal fans to be nice to the opponent's fans coming to the game.

And no other fanbase was treated worse than we were at your place 2 years ago. So there's that...

funny and ridiculous post.
2 feet by 2 feet, thats your space, take care of it and don't worry about everyone else.

as an alum of both schools taking my father to the rutgers penn state game was truly a bad experience. Had people screaming at us just walking by and some girl students tried to spit on us while we were walking. Hope the fanbase has calmed down or learned to be hospitable in 2 years

BS. There's a way to act and there's a way not to act. And the way some of our fans acted two years ago was so embarrassing. And it gets amplified by the fact that other Big Ten fan bases treat us so well when we visit.

Or just get your own house in order and treat other human beings with respect, I guess that's too much to ask.

I treat ALL fans near me with respect. UNLESS they give me reason not to. Nice assumption on your part though.

And since we're talking about getting houses in order, might I remind you the one you live in is glass; I recommend no stones.

My house is Madison NJ is made of brick, not glass. And I'm glad you treat folks with respect, apparently your old AD didn't think that attitude was so pervasive among your fanbase 2 years ago. Despite that Rutgers fans were treated incredibly well last year at PSU as rutgersal alluded to. That's what real cfb fans do. "Don't come to the game if you don't like being treated in a way over-the-top, completely unacceptable vile manner for the crime of cheering for your team" is beneath a fan of a Big10 school, at least in my opinion.

Yes, I was speaking figuratively about the house in Happy Valley. But, my friends and I will be in the Blue lot, feel free to stop by for a beer and conversation. There are fans of every fanbase that I may have a problem with, those that come in with the intention of watching a football game, friendly banter and a great day outdoors are not among them.

It seems that you came here LOOKING for conflict, hoping that is not the case.

I agree with Al. Two years ago, I brought by daughter and niece (both PS alums) and our fans behavior made them both cry. My daughter, who has been going with me to RU games since she was a small child. Now honestly there was bad stuff coming from both sides that night. There's such a thing as being a good guest and understanding that when you go into someone else's house you respect your host. I didn't see much of that from PS fans. Too much alcohol by all.

Hopefully that was a one time thing and our fans can be hospitable and mature. We'll see...

If Penn State fans were human beings then they'd get my respect. But the majority are a$$holes, which is only a part of a human being.

I keep hearing about how bad our fans were. Where was this happening? was fine in the yellow and blue lots. doubt the scarlet lot was a rough place. Are we referring to a few drunk students? Pretty sure that happens everywhere and I can tell you I heard lots of negative RU comments while in Happy Valley. PSU fans are a very sensitive bunch

The problem is there is no demand for tickets from RU fans, even if giving them away.

You and I both know that each team had fans that indulged too much. And frankly, that is the problem, no pointing fingers. Any fanbase will have that contingent that ruins it for others (not always, but more often than it should be). Hoping that this year is better in terms of fan behavior. We'll see, if going, enjoy the game.

I was at PSU last year and I wasn't treated very nicely by all.

I have friends that are PSU alums. 2 years ago I hosted them at my tailgate and they had a blast. They had no issues in the scarlet lot or stadium.

Last year they hosted me and most people were fine but not all. And I'm talking during the tailgate and in the stadium.

I'm not a sensitive person so I can brush things off and I won't complain but to make a general statement that all RU fans were treated well last year is off the mark.

I will host my PSU fans at my tailgate again this year and expect them to have a good time again.

True, but I'd eat mine first.
Same here. I'm going to the game, but if I wasn't, there's no way in hell I'd sell my tickets to fans from the opposing team. I'd either give them to fellow RU fans or I'd simply toss 'em.

Maybe check with what your AD at the time had to say about it?

It doesn't "happen everywhere". Some remarks and ribbing back and forth are fun and expected THAT happens everywhere. I've been everywhere in 40 years of college football fandom and have never experienced anything like it. And "sensitive"? Again, stop being purposely obtuse and take ownership of the vile behavior of (much of) your fanbase. You're in the Big 10 now, act like it. Stop making excuses and treat people with respect, it isn't hard.

exactly. They were treated no differently than fans are across the country every saturday. They were making it like their cars were lit on fire and they were physically assaulted and abused. Meanwhile, the PSU fans who sat by me were the most arrogant fans I ever encountered. Seats behind me are owned by scalpers so I always have visiting fans by me. PSU were the worst by far.

You reap what you sow. I will be going to a game with a big chip on my shoulder...because we suck and they don't. And the chance to finally beat them this year seems like a million to one long shot.

So I will absolutely respect and enjoy any and all PSU fans rooting for their team and not being jerks. Anyone choosing to knock that chip off by being a dick at our place is going to get his or hers.

Anecdotal vs all the press and the fact that your AD had to apologize. And global warming is a hoax because there is snow in my yard. Good lord man.

Pedd State fans are way more obnoxious in Piscy then they are at home. Don't cause no trouble won't get no trouble.

Pedd State folks and reality don't often interact.
