So who will it be? Something to Think about over the weekend. The poll will be open for 2-days...but probably appear in the sidebar here for a decade.

Laviano IMO. Will he be the whole year? Better question. I think Laviano will be much improved...older, more experience, coaching and system plays into this belief.

Whoever it is, I think Ash wouldn't hesitate to put someone else in if things aren't going as planned. I hope one of the guys does better than expected and the offense gets rolling.

It'll be Laviano. He has the most experience and I do believe he's the best QB we have. It's really just a matter whether or not he can fit his game into our power spread offense.

Whoever gives us the best chance to go 1-0 this week will be the qb. Sorry Flood has given me PTSD. I keep reliving his quotes.

How refreshing is that!

It's going to be Laviano for sure, can't see him talking up Laviano about all the steps and sacrifices he made this year only to sit him down and crush his confidence. He will probably be on a short leash though, and I can see him putting Allen in if Laviano can't get the offense moving after a few drives.

I don't know. What I was hoping to hear is "Quarterback X has really killed it so far this camp" . Unfortunately its more like "well these 2 are close, we're not sure yet".

I don't think it bodes well for us, and I fear we might be in for another year of a "game manager" which IMHO means we aren't going to scare many people on offense.

I just hope whoever the winner of the competition is, can show signs of continued development and progression. I want to have a solid, respected, and leader at the qb position. Can we get Teel back?

Sorry, I liked Mike, but he couldn't run.
yeah I get that but to be honest, I don't want my qb running. We didn't need Mike to run, we needed him to be the commanding presence and gunslinger he was; it worked!

but yeah, he was no Randall Cunningham (used his reference for the old guys:))

no way to know this answer without seeing them play of course.

Hopefully we don't polarize this year - that was terrible what we did last year (we're not the only fan base that does it, but its a bad look and does nothing to help the program)

Wrong Mike.

McMahon would have been perfect for this offense.

Unless Laviano is greatly improved, the possibility of nobody being able to "beat him out" scares the hell out of me.

CL starts and good chance he stays starter unless hurt or a 2-7 20yd 2 Int half
Allen the backup
Gio close 3rd
Dare good chance to transfer and hate to see it
Rettig should have started from day one last year but now either has to decide to sit another year or just finish his education

Remember Nova's improvement when Fridge was OC, maybe all Laviano needs is a Coach that can show him how to improve.
Since I wonder about the coaching he received before, I'll hope the coaching he's receiving now makes him a QB we can be proud of.
If Chris isn't the starting QB by the time season roles around , hope whoever wins the QB job can make RU fans proud of the way they play.

When the crystal ball says it's going o be Laviano, you have to vote for Chris. I'm expecting to see CL to have taken a step forward and for everyone to be surprised by our improved QB play.

I wasn't a big CL supporter in 2015, but really my problem was with the coaching not Chris. My prediction is that Chris starts and we see a zip on the ball that was missing last year. I'll credit it to the effort he's put in with Coach Parker (but don't underestimate the previous staff's ability to have tired out his arm).

Cannot see a scenario that Allen does not start with this offense. Nothing against Laviano, its just that the offense needs the most athletic QB and unless Allen is markedly worse than Laviano in calling the plays and throwing passes it has to be Allen

Impressions of Coaches are almost always are linked very very closely with their QBs. Even coaches like Tom Obsorne and Joe Paterno--who were defensive minded coaches--were linked with their QBs---Blackledge, Collins, Fusina, Turner Gill, etc. Bad coaches are also linked to their QBs. Ash will be linked to his choice. So he better get it right. And if he is wrong, he better correct it VERY QUICKLY or he will lose a lot of advantages he has at the moment.

I get that Laviano has improved from last year and has put in the time to learn the offense but is he really the best fit for the kind of offense Ash really wants to run? Or are they gong to tweak the offense a bit to fit Laviano's strengths.

Bingo , unfortunately we have a winner.
And this is what will keep RU fans up at night this season.

And there we have it 47% correct, another 11% still in play...for game 1. Guess Ash so the results and thought it was time to act.

Heads are exploding all over the state of New Jersey right now.
