PSU Fans

What does your AD look like. Walking in to the stadium near your alumni tent, I was behind a lady dressed in a red dress suit and heels.

Assumed it was Julie so I gave a very understated "booooo". She turned around to see where it came from and I gave her a big smile and a friendly wave. She smiled back, took two steps, turned around again and said "was that a boo or moo?" She made me laugh out loud - well played! I smiled back and said "no, that's what OUR subway sounds like. ". She laughed and we parted ways.

Wonder if it was Julie???

Julie is a very tall redhead. if that is who you mooed at then it was Julie.

That's because it would cut into their revenue. You have to purchase them with your tickets.
It always been the rules even before they were renting them. They do allow seatback cussions that are able to roll up.

That was her. You should be proud of her quick wit and friendly demeanor. Hope she had as much fun with the exchange as I did.

I I had known it was her I'd have put a word of encouragement for KF and applauded her principles in standing behind him as the future of your program!

Ran in to Andy Sisti walking around the lots with his wife. Super nice guy. Stopped by to talk with me and my PSU friends for a little while.

BTW-not a fan of the guy operating the Video Board. Rutgers is quick to put replays of both good and bad up on the screens and is good about making sure the upcoming is set to go on the screen before the play snaps. This guy was all about making sure that the crowd was making noise and left the message up too long so you would miss beginnings of plays or replays. I know I'm nitpicking here but still, I think the fans know to make noise. You don't need it up ALL THE TIME! Show the game!
I think everyone would agree with you on that one. They definitely could use more replays.

I happen to be a fan of Julie. she is very friendly and has a great sense of humor. When I see her at the game on Saturday I'll let her know you said "moo" [roll]

the psu fans around us booed it (section EUG) but we RU fans were quite impressed. I have no idea why the RU fans would boo their own fight song. sounds like someone trying to stir up trouble.
The Rutgers fans cheered pretty loudly when the Blue Band did this. They do it for each visiting team, but I thought the R looked especially cool. I don't travel to away games, so I don't know if other schools have this tradition. I was surprised the Rutgers band did not make the trip, given the short and inexpensive travel, but I guess each school band is limited to just one or two away games per year.

My guess is because of high demand, Rutgers sold the seats instead of giving them to the band. Probably if more seats were available, the school would have brought the band.

I saw her today and told her you said hello. She remembered your exchange clearly and said she still thought you were imitating the cows out in the field. moooooo

I've been thinking about this thread for about a week. I have to say that I feel a thousand percent better about Penn State after reading the posts from some of their fans on this board. Somehow, both online and in the real world, I haven't been exposed to very many PSUers who I thought had a reasonable attitude about the scandal (not that I'm walking around challenging any of them or looking for trouble; I'm not.)

Most of the Penn State posters on this board have shown me that there are many who, while still as proud as can be of their school (and rightly so), concede that things went wrong and not everybody was a saint. I like that, and as weird as it sounds, it's a relief to me.

(disclaimer: I'm a Maryland guy living in New Jersey. My son is a Rutgers grad.)

Sounds like the NJ based PSU fans are the problem (and young guys - but that's probably everywhere) and the PA PSU fans are fine. Last year we had two of the biggest Tom's River based PSU jackasses sitting next to us in 207 (and we really tried to be nice) but PSU fans tailgating next to us were real nice.

This has always been my opinion and three very close friends of mine fit that NJ PSU alum label. When we were starting to get competitive (which they used to tell me would NEVER happen back in the early Schiano years) they were extremely dismissive and mocked me and Rutgers constantly. Yet, their fraternity brothers who actually grew up in PA didn't give me half as hard of a time as the NJ PSU guys. I guess if you are going to pay double for what amounts to essentially the same level of education give or take depending on your field, you need to belittle the school you spurned to make yourself feel better?!? That can be the only reason I could think of as to why the NJ PSU crowd would diss Rutgers when the PA born and bred are more polite and respectful towards us. Just my personal experience throughout the years. My one friend, who tends to be a little uppity, one time stated "you couldn't pay me to go there" when a girl down at the Parker House asked him "did you go to rutgers too?" Again, arrogance and it's quite off putting and usually from the NJ/NY PSU alumni. The native PA PSU folks are courteous, respectful and polite.

Been told by a PSUer that training to be nice to visiting fans begins at frosh orientation and the indoctrination continues from there.

Just an observation, but you and I have a different definition of "friend".

Yes.. the idea that NJ folk who chose PSU would give Rutgers folk a hard time makes perfect sense with what I have seen. And it is not limited to PSU ex-patriots. It is worse with the Catholics like Nova and BC and also applies to Syracuse and other schools with a bunch of Jersey alums. WVU, though having a large NJ contingent, doesn't seem to follow this mold. I wonder if it is mainly populated with those who would have preferred going to Rutgers but couldn't get in.

If our band is expected to do this we're gonna have to spread out the schedule a bit more. Say 6 weeks between games.

LOL RU Band.

Actually, I recall our band playing "The Victors" before the Michigan game last year. (Best fight song ever, IMO.)
