We all know what happened last year. I also feel that Flood felt he had no real choice of taking Nova out and having a reasonable replacement that could make a difference.
This year appears to be a different situation. With both QB's pretty much finishing the practice almost tied plus seeing both of them in the first game, I think he definitely does have a reasonable replacement if he needs one.
Assuming that everyone wants to win this game, I will be looking for him to make the change if it is pretty obvious that Laviano is not getting it done. No matter who you think should be starting, I don't think you want to see him implode and take the team with him.

But the way Flood handled things in 2012 makes me nervous. Nova imploded in both the Kent St and Bowl games that year with veteran Dodd never leaving the bench.

Rettig ain't going in unless Laviano breaks his arm.... We would all like to think Flood learned a lesson from those debacles. I'm not convinced.

It seems like he avoids changing qb at all cost. I just don't see him putting any qb on a short leashe.

The fact Laviano started the second half against Norfolk State after being suspended tells me he was Flood 's choice all along.Even with Laviano limping early in the Washington State game ,Flood stuck with Laviano after a mediocre first half.
