So I get that missed calls such as stepping out of bounds, traveling, fouls, etc. are not reviewable to reverse calls based on video replays. But the thing is - going out of bounds wasn’t what needed to be reviewed here. The missed call wasn’t directly about the guy stepping out. If Holden doesn’t touch the ball, there should be no whistle. The missed whistle at the buzzer was about the refs failing to recognize that an ineligible receiver accepted the ball and hit the game winner.
So here’s my question. Suppose that shot happened along side OSU’s bench not ours. Suppose a 6th player hopped off the bench in desperation - jumps in without checking into the game - receives the pass from Thorton and drains the shot. Refs don’t see the illegal player come off the bench real time until after the buzzer sounds. Is that not reviewable either?
