Living in southwest Florida. FGCU men's soccer plays the Chicago Fire this weekend. Does this mean that Rutgers baseball could schedule an exhibition game with the Yankees and Mets, and that the Harbaugh brothers could have Michigan football scrimmage the Baltimore Ravens?

In 2008 the Yankees played a game at Virginia Tech. It was a year after the shooting and was a benefit game. The starters were there though maybe only played a few innings. I think it was scheduled as the Yankees broke camp and headed north. Maybe since it was a benefit they got special permission for the game.

The Mets will visit Army West Point on March 31st for an exhibition. $$$$

Certain sports allow exhibition games against professional teams. Football doesn't allow them. They no longer allow them in basketball either. They are common in baseball (often split squad during spring training) and soccer in the spring when schools play a few exhibition games.

If this is the "special relationship" Hobbs is talking about with the Yankees....I'm cool with that.

Bet the team would love to have a game against the Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

Wouldn't hurt baseball recruiting ... more likely the opponent will be the Yankees' Trenton Thunder, or maybe the Blue Claws, or Sparky Lyle's favorite team -- the Somerset Patriots.
