Youre working with different clients than me then. My high school coach makes $60K per year from coaching alone from stipend + summer camp fees. Pair it with his teacher salary and hes up by $175KSince Quinerly was never something likely to happen, I stayed away from the thread, until I see the insanity of someone telling other teachers what they make per year.
Having done mortgages for almost 20 years and having done mortgages for at least 100+ teachers from NJ, there has not been 1 school teacher that has ever had a salary over 95K......as in its never happened and a good majority are RU fans that come from this message board.
If a teacher is teaching AND coaching and doing other items, that's probably 0.01% of teachers capturing that amount of income. Coaching income is not involved with teaching during the normal 10 month school year.
In terms of perhaps some private schools, perhaps those teachers are earning more, but I have not seen teachers out of college in the last decade, starting anywhere near what experienced teachers earn. In almost all the cases, the teachers I've worked with are overly-dedicated to the job and are fully invested into the field.
On Quinerly, he was a salary cap casuality at Alabama after his ACL tear and found some cap space at Memphis. At about 25 years of age, this might be his last big payday, before he goes overseas in Europe for more "peanuts". He'll probably land a NBA Summer League invite next year, but at 26, he'll be competing against some 19 or 20 year old lottery picks. Maybe he gets a 2 way contract, but once his rookie contract is done (if he's lucky) he'll be almost 30 and likely headed towards sports retirement age.
Again, the salaries from teaching alone are public. Here you go. https://govsalaries.com/salaries/NJ/west-essex-regional-school-district
