Ended up not getting a lot pass - will have to bring my group of 30 RU fans to the RAC.

Was hoping for an exciting game day environment. Will the RAC be too subdued for my group? Does anyone have any experience tailgating at the RAC lots? Any anecdotes on the crowd, environment, how it compares with tailgating by the stadium is greatly appreciated

much more subdued, but still pretty good. One positive is the RAC is open so no need to use port o pots.
Thanks, are there still people tailgating around the area? I have a large group coming and would like bring them to a tailgate game-day environment

We tailgate in the RAC. It just very convenient for us to get home. Like others said it's very subdued when we suck. But gets going when were good, but not crazy. We like it because we're older and don't need all the boom boxes blaring.

We can hear each other talk and we park by the grass with trees. It's a nice little scene out here in Siberia. Plus the wives love going in the RAC when they have to go instead of a port O potty.

Thanks, seems like it will be relatively quiet. Will it be the same way this Saturday with a big game like Penn State?

Tough to tell. Last time we played psu home it was quite active. But then again we didn't exactly suck. Like RUSonic said if your looking for a rowdy scene just go to Johnson park. Just go early to ensure a spot. The $45 is worth it. Actually this game we'll be parking in the cop lot just down the road.

if you want to give them the real college game day tailgating experience you need to be in the blue lot. Yellow, scarlet, green or purple are good options too but blue is the best college game day feel.

Not true at all Johnson Park gets going for most games and gets down right rowdy at times.

I did not know this.

Hopefully we are sharing this info with visiting fans as this is good info to know.

Love our poster- dude has a RAC pass and asking about something very specific and posters just say go somewhere else...always cracks me up

true but then again his lack of planning doesn't really constitute a crisis. There are parking passes available on this site.

If you get there early you can park around the outside of the lot. This will give you sun and space. You can also be found easily by the cars coming in. Go across the street towards the sports if you want to toss a football around on real grass lots of space. Nice thing about the rac is rainy days you have nice cover, even if it looks like an Enterprise rent-a-car pick up location. The cans in the RAC are nice. You will often see players from the mens BB or womens team shooting around. Corey Sanders was in there once last year, he was very friendly with the fans.
