Just some random thoughts, cant really analyze and delve in too much because this game and season is what it is. I think acceptence is the best advice.

1. This is the worst RU team since 2002

2. RU is clearly the worst team in the Big 10 in 2016.

3. RU is very unlikely to win another game this year

4. 42640 official attendance but probably not more than 35K in the game at peak...horrible showing on homecoming

5. Program is at a crossroads with the fanbase. Fans are tuning out or not coming. Next year with the unattractive home schedule will be worrisome for ticket sales

6. Ash has tons of leeway with people who understand football as he should. He was left a team that was poor on talent, that is all Flood's fault.

7. That being said I believe its fair to level at least some criticism toward Ash for handling of the QB situation and the offense in general

8. Ash may or may not get it done. We will not know for 3 years but those who say he won't are wrong and those who say they know he will are also blowing smoke too..its a very tough road

9. The coaching staff made a misstep with the offense they are trying to run without any talent to run it, while I realize they wanted to get their system in as soon as possible, it needed to be modified somewhat. The jury is out on Merhinger.

10. Team is perilously closing to packing it in for the season. I dont see as much toughness/sheer desire as a fan would want to see overall.

11. Gio was the highlight today even though his mistake was costly. He should start next game as he seemed to be the only one that can grasp the offense and move the ball. Laviano should not be on the field anymore.

12. Our snaps..ugh, deserves major criticism

13. Just two tds in 12-13 quarters is deplorable

14. Fanbase needs to stop pencilling in wins for the next 2 years. I see this all the time. RU has now dropped into the bottom bog of this conference where Illinois and Purdue reside. Its going to take well into 2018 to get out of this.

15. RU is going to take more lumps in the press and by college footballl fans. Perception is reality. Do not get upset, based on onfield results RU has done nothing to deserve being in the Big 10 and with historic losing this year, its only going to get worse. Perception isnt driven by potential or what may happen in a decade. Perception is driven by what you did for me lately. Its going to be a rough couple of years and hopefully Ash gets us out of this mess or we could end up a perpetual bottom team with ocassional 6-6/7-5 type year.

No talent on team, I read where over 20 kids left program in last three years because of idiot coach we had before and QB position is horrible.

Flood was an idiot thats for sure but people were going ga ga over stupid wins over USF and Indiana. He should have been canned after 2013 and we would have been further along with the process. When analyzing where we are right now it all comes back to him and him being hired in the first place...not to say Ash has impressed because he hasnt but there really is no way to judge him fairly at this point with what he was left with. Its the QB thing they could have handled better

Pernetti hired him. An O line coach.

One of the reasons was they said they couldn't afford to get a proven head coach. Well when the stands are empty you will find out it cost more to be cheap. You get what you pay for.

And they raised ticket prices [roll]

No Britt or Sanu and that is on Flood. QB poor and I want to see what Gio can do.

I liked Flood's wins over Arkansas, Washington St., UNC and Maryland best.

1. Bac predicted 9 or 10 wins in 2013 . He was wrong about ash so far .

2. Bac ,stop posting and makinng an a$$ of yourself. You have been so wrong

bac, you make many valid points but unattractive 2017 home schedule? Ohio State and Washington may be playing for the national championship.

in how it sets up...with the Maryland game AWOL at Yankee Stadium , I think we have 4 September games in 5 weeks and only one game each in Oct (Purdue) which isnt a draw and Nov at HPP ..Michigan State all the way two days after Turkey day

if there is any season for ticket holders to drop and cherry pick its next year

Wow that's horrible.

Bad says this really well

This ...is....a ....do...over

You will see at least 14 of the class of 2017 on the two deep by the last game of 2017

You will see at least 30 of the class of 2017 and class by the last game of 2018

It won't be until 2019...when those kids are juniors/redshirt Sophs/Sophs that you have enough experience to expect a chance to really step forward and even won't be 2020 (ash's fifth year) thar we have an experienced team

This is a wash out and start over

My husband and I were talking about how much money we would save if we just purchased ticket on the secondary market.

I'm sorry if this triggers some of the diehard fans on this board (let's be real, we're all diehards rooting for this team), but Fudd has coached better games in the Big10 so far. We can make any excuses we want about talent, but at least show me that you're teaching the kids. The L's is one thing, the way we get those L's is an entirely different issue. The manner in which we're losing, to me, is completely unacceptable. If we lose, at least show us something to look forward to... up until Gio replacing CL, we haven't gotten anything. I'm saying that and I like Ash. I think he has the smarts to really teach a very respectable squad. Unfortunately, he just hasn't. Our kids seem less disciplined, if anything. We didn't spend a little more money to get this kind of product. It took us forever to commit to big time football, and the product on the field is going to have some thinking maybe we shouldn't have. By the time we get that lucrative Big10 payday, we'll already be forever stuck as the Syracuse of the Big10 (which actually pulled an upset with their talent cupboard half-empty team).

Disagree with 4. I thought crowd size was good for a team that has been badly beaten. I've been to a lot of other college games. We draw decent crowds.

It starts up front -- both sides of the ball.

Honestly, not much else to say. We just can't compete.

Unattractive home slate? Washington, Ohio State, Purdue, Maryland, Michigan State..

Granted we will probably get our tails kicked but were you around for the AAC days and home conference slate of Houston, Temple, USF, Cincy?
