Credit where it’s due, big shot at the end…but does Carino have no shame?

As much as I love Pike, how can you not come up with an offense to combat a 3-2 zone???? Yes we have woeful shooters but I saw no cross screens, getting a man into the top of the paint to pass to cutters, and to take a 16 foot shot. Nor did they make an effort to feed Cliff below. No, just chuck up threes and no second shots. One of the worst played games by our kids and abysmal coaching by Pike and staff.
What I don't understand is why when we come down the court, our player with the ball sets up and shoots just inches behind the 3-point line. Wouldn't it make more sense to just shoot it as soon as we cross half-court? Or maybe even behind the half-court line? I mean ... either way, there is a zero percent chance of the player making the shot, but if we shot it from half-court we could give the other team the ball back much faster so they could run their actual basketball offense. Why waste all that time moving 10 to 15 feet closer to the basket for a shot that isn't going in no matter what?
I need to watch the Iowa/Minnesota women's game now in order to cleanse my eyes after watching our abomination of a game.

Pike’s abysmal recruiting finally caught up to him (for a year). Next season can’t get here soon enough.
All the red flags are on display this season. It’s clear Pike only succeeds with a certain type of player and he’s in the process of trying to change the entire ethos of the program away from defense to a fast paced offensive team.
The success of next season is on the backs of Lathan, Dylan, and Ace. The development of coaching acumen has not come and doesn’t appear to be coming. If we can out recruit teams and those guys can play hero ball we have a chance at success, if they can’t then we will probably underachieve.
It’s a lot to put on the shoulders of freshman but it’s the reality of the situation.

I hate to say it but our toughest competitors who were the biggest psychos about winning have been Eugene, Cam, and Paul and all three transferred out.

The performance was pathetic.Even worse and more embarrassing was the announcer not recognizing Dylan Harper in the stands but did mention, Somerville,Bailey and Ron Harper Jr.

I said this one week ago — Pike needs to stop tinkering. Pick the best 7-8 guys, define roles, and let them play. At this point I don’t even care who they are, but we can’t keep running 9-10 guys (and sometimes more) out there. It’s way too many moving parts and it often looks like guys aren’t even really sure how they all fit together on offense.
