How about Ace getting stuffed

That was rough....but....I THINK he's starting to feel more comfortable driving to the hoop which we absolutely need from him in B1G play. He'll draw the fouls, that's for sure, and does a great job following up his own misses near the hoop (something we haven't seen in forever). Just needs to hit the FT's ugh!

So weird....I thought we were gonna have a "dunk-a-thon" team this season but it's been the exact opposite thus far. I think ECCC out-dunked us 7 to 1 today (and a couple were pretty impressive *puke*).

We don't run any pick and roll like we would with Clif last couple years or SHU did last night.

Nearly all their dunks were plays Clif would have made a similar dunk last year or a pass from a driving guard.
(Notable exception is JWill completely letting his man drive past him and posterize Ace.)

Is the offense just not running those plays with the attemp to get EO/LS easy baskets at the rim?
Are EO/LS out of position?

SHU guards forced us a few feet further from where we wanted to operate. When we ran pick and roll it would bring the opposing 5 to double team Harper.

My question…….
1. Why not set the screen with Ace
2. Doing so you can always do the fake screen with the immediate roll to basket

Not sustainable. Pike did poorly in constructing the supporting cast. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to create an amazing team, and Pike blew it.

Pikiell has commented many times on the portal, and how crazy it is. Nonetheless, this is the world right now and adjustment is needed. I do agree that the supporting cast does not all fit the bill of big ten players. Especially when they are not playing the defense Pikiell is known for. The offense and rotations have sometimes been confusing for a long time now. Nonetheless, the team has who they have. How will Pikiell maximize it? Keep starting five and players off bench are Acuff, PJ, and Lathan, and potentially Grant. Focus on them seemingly? Idk.

Weird that we don't get more 2 man action with Ace and Dylan.

I believe we had a pick and pop where Ace hit a 3. I don't recall any others. It shouldn't be so few that I only remember 1.
