Really disappointed in our WRs this year

Maybe part of it is because we lean on our RBs so much that we don't throw it so much (they've had a pretty darn good year). All of them are almost at 6 YPC exc. for Goodwin, but he makes up for it in the passing game when we need him.

But I was really hoping a guy like Agudosi or Patton or anyone would really step up along side Carroo (or in place of while he was out). I also still don't understand why they can't move the guys around and have them learn more than one position.

I truly wonder if either of next year's top frosh will be able to step right in and crack the top 4 at the position.

EDIT: As Bob pointed out below, the drops haven't been an issue, which is a major positive for this year's WR crop. So maybe "disappointment" is too strong. They haven't done a bad job by any means. They just haven't stood out as I would have hoped.

Based upon the number of throws by the QB's and their completion average I'd say the WR's are having a good season catching the ball...Patton, Agudosi and Grant are coming along.

Thank you Bob, I agree completely that the dropsies haven't been a problem this year, which is a major plus, and therefore disappointment was a bit too strong of a word to use. Blocking has been decent too. I just was hoping for somebody to emerge and be a real threat, which hasn't really happened outside of Carroo.

I am not one of the people calling for Laviano to be benched, but he throws high more often than not. I would say probably 75% of his passes are high. That kills YAC. Caroo overcomes it, not only with raw talent, but also because he is the only one they really send on deep routes. I'm not sure its really on the receivers.

We're not running plays for these guys. Certainly not deep routes. Not going to see a lot of yards per catch without airing the ball out.

Agudosi isn't even seeing the field much, because he's Carroo's backup and no one seems to want to stretch him to a different position so they can be on the field together.

Chris Laviano's "high " throws are due to throwing off his back foot and not setting properly on his follow through ... most of us know this well...Chris did show zip on the first TD to Leonte Caroo and on that one he was mechanically sound all the way through...does Laviano have a strong arm no ...he is a steady 20-25 yard pass QB ...can he improve this with work perhaps but only if his arm action is corrected.
