The consensus among Dallas Cowboys fan is that he committed an unforgivable act and many are concerned about his drop in production in his most recent season. (BTW, I have a beautiful wife and daughter. I think his act is and was heinous, but believe that he was truly remorseful and paid his dues for it.) As a fan of both Rutgers and Dallas, I just see an opportunity where Ray Rice can thrive behind an awesome offensive line. (They just signed Collins, a projected first round pick.) The line in Baltimore was just not that good when Ray's numbers dropped. In addition, I think that he can beat out Mcfadden for the starting job.

Yet they signed GREG HARDY!!!!!!!! :confused:o_O

Does Dallas even have interest in him? Last I heard, they were fine with who they have. Rice was a shell of himself at the end.

Interesting, although Ray looked bad in 2013, I am not sure he will be a shell of himself if he gets another chance.

I have a different take.

After looking at the numbers and reading some statements from his coaches, I don't conclude that he is washed up as many have mentioned.

His production was down in 2013 admittedly, but he was playing with some leg injuries. His coach said not many would have even played, but Ray wanted to help the team as best he could.

Also, In 2013, the Ravens had a bad offensive line. The other feature back, Bernard Pierce, had a large dip in his production as well and as far as I know was not injured. When the Ravens straightened out their line in 2014, Pierce's productivity went back to where it had been.

I believe if Ray is healthy and in shape like we have been told, he can contribute with much better productivity than in 2013. He is only 28.

Hopefully Ray gets a chance and will show us one way or another if he can contribute again. Until then its all conjecture and opinions, I get that.

Definitely would have preferred the signing of him over McFadden.. Because If nothing else; Ray has proven he still has sum fight in em

He would never fly under the radar in Dallas. That locker room is a police line up waiting to happen and Texan's are not the most liberal folks in the world. There have to be friendlier climates.

Geez..i hope not. Always intensely disliked Dallas..since the 70s really ..with their over the top self annointment as "America's Team". I'm a Jet fan and always rooted for PIttsburgh to kick their A$$'s in the Super Bowl..which they did. Also ..they have some of the most front running fans in sports. You don't see much of their colors when they are mediocre..which is often..as soon as they are in the playoff picture..the hats, jackets, etc are very visible. I wish them nothing but the worst.

The cowboys did not self-anoint themselves "America's Team". Roger Staubach, the QB, was a true Captain America, the NFL was getting popular on TV and the cowboys with Bob Hayes ( one of the world's fastest men) were truly an exciting team to watch. All that drew a national interest in the cowboys. I lived in Dallas for 25 years and there is hardly a mention of America's Team in Big D. By the way, the cowboys with the triplets beat the Steelers in Superbowl 30, which is the last time they played in SB and it wasn't even close.

Would the OP settle for Adrian Peterson? In a interview today Jerry Jones said he's willing to part with next years first rd pick. Dallas is going all out, desperately tryna get a ring before Romo hangs the cleats up

Lol. "Unforgivable act"?? Josh Brent COMMITTED MANSLAUGHTER for Christ sake, and Cowboy fans forgave him as soon as he was charged. Hell, they never even entertained the idea of releasing him even after his conviction.

If Ray was still a dynamic fantasy stud, every team, especially Dallas would be busting down his door trying to get him to sign, elevator party or not.

Ru2bnj: At least the PIT favor was finally returned in 1996. Cowboys also have some of the most loyal fans - been thru it all (good times and bad) since around 1979.

Not going to sit here and cheer for the likes of Hardy, but it certainly looks like La'el Collins got the royal screw over the past week. Extremely impressive press conference yesterday. And let's not act like we all root for a bunch of choir boys on whatever team you root for - unfortunately we all have to take the bad with the good apples.

Brent's situation was tragic but also an accident. Nothing about what Rice did was an "accident". He didn't "accidently" knock his soon to be wife out cold and drag her around like a sack of potatos.

Sure, a teammate dying in a car wreck caused by you is awful. But there was no motive there. Rice had a clear motive.

So Brent "accidentally" decided to become intoxicated and operate a deadly vehicle with a person inside? I'm sorry but that is complete and total bullsh*t. His awful and careless decision directly resulted in killing someone. That is manslaughter. It's no different from getting drunk and then waving a gun around only to "accidentally" send off a bullet that finds its way into someone's temple.

I wouldn't call Ray's behavior saintly either but you make it seem like it was a carefully planned premeditated assault or something. They were both wasted beyond belief and at each other's throats. If youre gonna give Brent a pass but not Ray then you're simply being a hypocrite.

The Raven's offensive line SUCKED Ray's last year and Flacco hardly looked his way on those swing passes as well. I put solid cash that Ray still has what it takes..he just needs a chance.

RBs are only good for three years. He has had a good career and I don't think he will be in the NFL this year.

I'm still trying to figure out the title..."Really hope that Ray picks Dallas"...do you think Ray is holding out for better offers? I doubt it is up to him at this point.

Let it be something about a past ND player (who was big at that school) or something ND player did while on the team or even what ND did and you'll probably see Ty singing another song.

I knew some "know it all" would bring this up. Fine, I should have done a better job with the title, and I was trying to change it. (It should read "Really hope that Ray signs with Dallas). However, I did not know how to do it. Good for you! Yes, I do like the Cowboys and most Rutgers fans are Giants fans with the Jets coming in second. However, this is a Rutgers forum right? I feel so supported by my fellow fans.
