Recruit/Player reactions & Little Mo welcomes the new HC

This coach has me fired up and there's no doubt he'll bring in the right kids that fit what he wants to do. However I'm not to sure how Mr. Russo had reacted to the idea of Ash n his style of offense.
Since Russo has been committed he has had Rutgers Commit in his bio. That is now off his bio, I'm wondering if this could mean or imply that a decommit from Russo is possible. I could be totally wrong but that's what it seems to me.

I'd be excited too, especially if I was a recruit who committed because of the school and not because of Flood. Committing to the school you want then finding out you're upgrading from Flood to Ash is like getting a free upgrade to first class on a flight from coach. Can't beat it.

He's still committed. Russo will be one of the first kids Ash has a long talk with. If both are on the same page, Russo will stick. If not, he'll leave. Like Ash has already alluded to a few times, the players and coaches have to be in alignment. If a player doesn't feel aligned with the program, there's no use having him here.

Agree, spread offenses don't necessarily mean QB running the read option 15-20 times per game.

Spread does not mean moblie QB. It just means MORE people to throw twolike having 4 WRs out at once. You know spreading the defense around. Doing that can open up run plays as well.

I'm not worry that he won't be able to turn around the defense. My worry is that he hires the right offense coordinator to get his spread offense. It need to be someone experienced with the spread and successful at it.

I don't care what offense Ash runs. If he doesn't find a quarterback who can play we are going to stink.

Don't know how to link this, but Mo Jabbie's tweet had a poster with Ash's face on it. He looked like one of those old leather football helmets. Really a great image.

Lol you mean the picture in the OP on this thread.....

Is there something there for Barbir when he used "them" instead of "us"??

This guy will be the most impactfull recruits as he can possibly be the starting PK and with his accuracy at a pretty far range, he can provide much more consistency at the position than we have had these past couple of years. Coach Ash needs to get on him asap

He tweeted two other times, one welcoming the coach, and another stating you commit to Universities not coaches...that was early in the day. So wexpect he is staying

One player who's silence is deafening is Darius Hamilton. He is a quiet guy to begin with. But I would have expected the Captain to comment somewhere...

Looks like he has spoken to both Pollock and Babir. I guess we no longer have to worry he is not doing his job as he finishes up the bowl game.
I hope that we go to a spread that is not a read option or running QB. If he can show Russo an offensive scheme that allows him to mostly stay in the pocket, then it could be a win win for Rutgers and Russo

The quarterback must be a threat to run as well as pass to stop defenses with 8 men in the box.

I was wondering the same thing about Hamilton being quiet. He at first said all options were on the table if Flood was gone, but I believe changed that to he was staying because he loved Rutgers and his teammates.

I would think he would make some kind of statement soon. Maybe he hasn't spoken to him in depth yet.
