Recruiting Tidbits

Rutgers also watched 2017 G/F David Caraher of Wesleyan Christian yesterday who recently de-committed from Butler

Lots of positive activity going on

LIS, thanks for the info. So Rutgers got the two for one by going to see Kew and then seeing Carher. I like the kid out of the bronx. Lengthy, has a stroke.

Jenkins is jenkins. Really like his potential.

Ive been a fan since i started my career at rutgets. This seems to be the most active we have been in recruiting for awhile.

Read aarin smiths bio. Seems to have the size and is under the rasar.very well spoken and competitive. Refreshing.

Not sure if he is d1 potential. Says he works a lot on fundamentals and describes himself as a lockdown defender. His senior yr will tell jordan if he can compete at this level.

Quinerly is a humble, great pointguard for his age. By 2017, he could easily be a five star recruit.

Caraher will be great to watch as he can play 1-4 positions with decent+ efficiency. He is smart and has solid instincts.

The best thing about these types of recruits we are after-we have secured commitments from their former players already. Go down to watch Parker?Well see Caraher play.

I like the versatility it seems like the coaching staff is looking for. Caraher is a player who has a high IQ, won't turn the ball over a bunch. Quinerly is a humble player who will look to coaches to get himself better, which is huge.

In addition, Aaren Smith is a player Ill look out for a couple times a month. At 66, and maybe an inch more to grow,he is a competitor, seems to respect coaches, and has a smoth stroke from the 3. Both Caraher, Smith and Luther say they love playing defense.

Looks like Andre Rafus and Nate Pierre-Louis attended the Wash St game per their Twitter pages. Can anyone confirm this and if there were any other visitors?

Also, Rutgers will be in to watch 2018 PG Jahvon Quinerly and 2018 SG Luther Muhammed of Hudson Catholic, NJ today
FWIW, I love both of these kids. Had a chance to watch their Sports U team twice in Atlanta.

We're planning to release our first class of 2018 rankings on Wednesday if we release a Top 50 they both could end up in the ranker.

Really? Fred recruited well, and so did Rice.

I just graduated two months ago. I've been a fan for about three-four years. I don't know what Fred Hill did, and saw some of what Rice did.I just like who Jordan is recruiting. That's it.

That’s fine but the first loss or even losing streak in the Big 10 even if it is to a team that everyone understands is better than RU it will certainly prompt posters to start the usual threads of posts that go something like this:

1)I don’t expect much but my God they don’t even know how to execute what is Eddie doing in practice? hey look lost on defense as well. Or

2)Obviously Wisconsin has more talent but are they 30 points better? Or

3)This is year 3 where are the improvements? This is embarrassing.

And God forbid you lose to a non-conference opponent not deemed to be difficult, say St. Peter’s, then forget it, this board will lose it that much worse.

You know it and I know it. I can pull the threads where the same posters who were praising the hard work of the staff during the summer are then bashing them during the 15 game losing streak in the winter and are now optimistic again.

Just remember this post.

Misch, Yes, and what is going to happen at SJU when they get beaten to a pulp this year? How many Johnny fans will be crying about the lack of talent.

Just remember this post.

You just pointed out how most College MBB,WBB or FB boards are.
I would bet St John's board is the same.
Let Mullin start losing and the SJ's board will find more fault with his coaching than RU MBB fan though Craig Littlepage had.
If Cris' teams play great: St John's fans would claim John Wooden couldn't have done better and consider Mullin another Joe Lapchick and better than Frank McGuire
