Refs Suspended Over This?

Seriously what do you guys think the reason the refs missed this call was?

It's seemingly impossible that they didn't see the man was clearly out of bounds

Did they not know the rule and think he had reestablished himself? (he didn't anyway)

Oh good God. Up by 2 with 5 seconds left and let him take a 3 had nothing to do with the refs. Get real
It is nonsense to say the guy who wandered out of bounds and then came back in shoot a 3 has nothing to do with the refs.

No we shouldn’t have let it come to that but that specific shot on that specific play has everything to do with the refs.

they got caught up in the moment and didn't want to intervene for the home crowd

If that's the answer then they should resign and never ref a game again. That's unacceptable
Had multiple refs on the sideline and none of them were paying attention. They’re not watching the ball handler’s feet when he’s literally trying to tight rope on the sideline and steps out. They completely miss a player just wander out of bounds, take several steps up the floor and then come back in and receive a pass. Like how do BOTH officials miss BOTH of those things

It was apparently his 6th consecutive game in 6 different states, after reffing 28 of the last 32 days. NCAA needs to enforce mandatory days off
There's no possible way you can be sharp working that kind of schedule

They review out of bounds plays and possible 3-point or 2-point baskets all the time. But not when it really matters? 🤔
Apparently, it seems you can only review out of bounds calls. If no call was made, there is no call to review. They have to clean that up. Whether that's allowing everything, called an uncalled, to be reviewable in the final minute, or allowing coaches to have a challenge, or whatever.

I'm guessing that's why they jetted out. They reviewed the shot itself, saw that they screwed up the call on the out of bounds, felt that wasn't reviewable/overturnable, and made quickly for the exit.

They are completely gutless cowards.

But back to the review, they routinely go back and review shots near the 3-point line.

The officials saw Cliff run and point to the line. They should have reviewed to make sure and would have saw the osu player use the sideline to his advantage and not reestablish himself. OSU coach could not possibly dispute it if get waived off the shot and gave RU the ball

I've been wrestling with this, but I think this slots in at #4 worst blown call for me. #1 is the WBB/Tennessee clock, #2 is the Slaton fumble, #3 is the SJU game. The thing those other 3 had that this game didn't was immediate postseason impact.
I agree. However, what sets this one apart is that the shooter was only open because of the uncalled infraction. Our defender backed off and double teamed the ball handler because the shooter made himself ineligible. There wasn’t enough time left on the clock for the out of bounds player to first reestablish then catch a pass and get off a shot.

I forget the exact game but I know it was a HUGE game and a HUGE call at the time - and I know it resulted in an RU touchdown being called back - that illegal man downfield call where the announcers replayed it a number of times and couldnt see what the refs were talking about. was that the same WVU game?

by far the worst was the Tennessee clock situation.

all of the others I will attribute to incompetence.

but that Tennessee clock situation was downright WRONG. that was 1972 US-USSR basketball bad. that was CHEATING. no other way around that.

Just hate to have called it but I posted in the game thread " if the game is tight coming down the stretch watch out for the Zebras". Criminal. Should be a way to reverse the result.

Yeah, that would also be in the top five, the illegal man downfield versus Louisville in 2012.

The game clock was a hair late. It is supposed to start when the osu player touched the ball
Wrong , the clock starts the minute the shot is missed and did not go in not when it is touched by the rebounder. At least 1-1.5 seconds should have come off the clock when it was still showing 5.0. This is reviewable and not sure why it wasn’t done.

Answer: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

RU v Boston College at BC. RU intercepts ball returns it for a TD. Refs ruled he stepped out. He did not! Game ends in tie.

Bogus pass interference calls against Illinois and Miami.

Illegal man downfield vrs. Louisville.

the Scirotto crime family strikes again. Can you believe this ****ing guy?

You are correct but there was 5 seconds on the clock when Caleb shot free throw and there was still 5 seconds on clock when pass was caught by #2
Yea they followed the rule. They started it when the ball touched a player.
They just didn’t start it when it touched the first player who rebounded it and passed it.
Start the clock when Thornton catches it and starts running with it.

100% and you tube video evidence captures this definitively. Over a second should’ve come off the clock by the time the second player to touch the ball received it and the clock was still at 5. Holden got his shot off with 0.4 left so time would’ve expired.
