Right now, Allen and Rettig are thinking ...

Said it in another thread. Allen was worth risk. One year lease and if he came in and blew the doors off, great. If not, sorry, it's the guys that are here for the long haul.

Rettig is unlucky. This isn't the offense for him. Flood blew that kid's chances. He should transfer down to a suitable offense where he plays immediately and goes from there.

Or he stays at RU, gets his degree and enjoys his time on the banks. From everything I've seen the kid is happy and not hating life. Life is funny that way, sometimes.

A highly recruited competitor who has been putting work in everywhere but where it counts on game day is going to want to play.

I don't know the kid, but it wouldn't surprise me if he left. A casualty of big time football.

I would think Rettig may be tired of hoping the next coaching staff makes him a starter. Honestly, this may be the last year of his life playing football. Being a starting college QB just hasn't been in the cards for him and maybe it will be time at the end of the season to move on with the rest of his life. I wish him luck, he seems like a good kid.

He has had his chances in practice and he could not beat out other QBS. That is called competitive football.
If he was so good, he would be starting at LSU. That was his biggest mistake.
