Ron Harper Jr Highlights

Agree with that BUT maybe it’s just a conditioning thing? Which isn’t good, you would think the son of the former ballplayer knowing he’s getting big time offers would have himself in better shape, but that’s just the laziness thing And simply won’t cut it once he’s played his last game at this level.

The coaching staff will put an end to this, and will get the best out of Harper Jr.

I am very excited about his potential on the banks. He has some great offensive skills.

I’d prefer to see him redshirt next year if we don’t need him. I just don’t see it yet. Potential and pedigree are there, but I don’t know how his body translates at the next level just yet.

Obviously I hope I’m wrong.

Only freshman redshirts I can think of recently (that haven't been academic or injury related) are Myles Johnson, Shaq Doorson, and Ryan Johnson (who subsequently transferred). Was Greg Lewis a medical redshirt? Also can't remember if Hamady N'Diaye redshirted.

The only chance in heck that he redshirts will be medical. He is playing right away here.

He may not redhshirt, but how is he more than 9th or 10th in the rotation in 18-19?
I don't think we have enough guards/wings. If we had another talented guard right now, he'd be playing. There is also a decent chance that Sanders leaves. I'd bet that Sanders leaving is more likely than Harper redshirting.

If Sanders stays, our guard rotation will be Sanders, Baker, Kiss, Mathis... and our rotation at the three will be Thiam, Kiss, Omoruyi, Harper. If Sanders goes, we'll need one more for rotation at guard (and no telling if we bring in another body for that at this point).

Either way, don't see Harper getting a ton of minutes as a freshman unless he comes in and blows expectations out of the water. He's a guy I see giving spot minutes as a freshman and growing into a much bigger role as he develops within the program.
