RU in top 20 nationally and 3rd in B1G in number of NFL players

I remember ESPN's Keyshawn Johnson and Cris Carter taken digs at RU many years ago about having "2" players in the NFL. Of course it wasn't true when they made those comments but it was still annoying to hear because that was the perception. This should definiately be a key point in the recruiting pitch. The NFL has taken notice of RU's football program but I think too many parents try to influence their children's decision to not commit to RU because they are just not aware.

Too bad all of the negative BS overtakes stuff like this as news stories. Has NJ.com ever reported this?

That places us third in the B1G on that list behind Ohio State and Wisconsin but ahead of Penn State, Michigan, Nebraska, and Michigan State.

Keyshawn Johnson and Cris Carter are idiots, which makes them perfectly qualified to work for ESPN.

I'm not saying they aren't idiots, but the comments they made about RU's lack of players in the NFL was (or still do) definitely what a lot of people believed as well.

Last Monday night's pre-season game between the Bucs and Bengals had a total of 7 RU players on their rosters. I can remember when it was a big deal to have a single player on the field from RU,

Is anyone in contact with the ex-ohio state graphics guy? He should be all over this.

This is what everyone should be talking about, tweeting etc. SL should have an article about this. Should be pinned to the top of the board.

Any coach who uses this stat should be fired.
Who cares if players go into the NFL?
The only stat that should matter is what players are doing who don't make it to the NFL.

It is simple, Rutgers is one of the best ways to get a great degree, play in the best conference, in the best division and get a great chance earn millions playing on Sundays.

Also... great pizza :football::pizza:

When people learn about this positive statistic, they immediately will turn to "So why haven't they won more games?"

It's great that Rutgers players get to play at the next level. It really is. But I want RUTGERS to win games and then the players do whatever the hell they want to do afterward because they can. If that's the NFL, great. But I want us to win games. Here. In college.

And it's a nice item, maybe even a column idea, but hardly "news."

I think it's a pretty big thing particularly for recruits. If kids want to go elsewhere, it shows that Rutgers puts football players into the league at an elite level.

When you analyze this vs. our recruiting class rankings, we dramatically outperform all of the major programs. Kids that believe they have NFL futures would be foolish to go somewhere else... unless of course playing in front of 100k is more important than making the NFL.

we have put way more guys in the NFL that on paper shouldn't have been than guys that should have been but didnt get in. Not much wasted talent here.

RU top global university.
Consistently ranks in top APR graduation rates for student athletes.
Consistently putting talent in the NFL well above recruiting rankings.
Breaking fund raising records.
Their coach asked a professor if he had a players grade yet. OMG!!!

No. Looking at recruiting rankings, I'd say we over achieved and developed players who likely wouldn't have made the NFL in many cases otherwise.

Looking at that list, it really is incredible. We have more NFL players than Ped, BCU, Pitt, Uconn, Maryland, WVu and almost 2x Sarahcuse.

Rutgers is the beast of the east.

Oh, sorry, I was looking at rankings and results from when they played at our school.

Yep. Things sure have changed.
For those of us who suffered through the Shea Error it's hard to believe how far this program has come.
Thank you, Greg Schiano.
