RU Softball weekend series vs MSU, today Noon, 2 on Sat,first at 1pm

RU Softball finishes up the regular season w a home 3 game weekend series vs struggling Michigan St. RU has clinched a spot in the 10 team Big10 Tournament that starts this coming Thursday (BTN TV).

RU is currently in 6th place, 5th place is unreachable as Wisconsin has a 4 game lead over RU w only 3 games left. RU is currently 1 game ahead of Indiana and Nebraska in the standings. https://bigten.org/confstandings.aspx/2018-19/soft?path=softball

RU of late has been led by Freshman pitcher Corah Price, Freshman slugging sensation, Big10 homer leader Katie Wingert , and leadoff hitter, senior Jess Hughes.

Following Saturday's second game, Rutgers will hold a postgame Senior Day ceremony to celebrate the careers of the five members of the Class of 2019 - Nicolette Anico, Adriana Burcar, Jess Hughes, Whitney Jones and Allie Yoffee.

Uh oh ... RU has a chance to be a #6 seed which would be very special ... and play 3 games against a last place team (3-16) ... will RU deliver?
 
wtg ladies.......will katie get some lovin from the big ten....or the ru snub
this young lady deserves all the accolades ...what a great true frosh rookie season.
 
RU leading MSU 6-2 after 5 innings, Anyssa Iliopoulos the star so far with 2 Home Runs and 4 RBIs !

Was down 9-6 in the bottom of the 7th and Iliopolous hits a 3 run bomb to tie it. They are playing out of their minds.
 
Game over
Lost 10-9 in 8 innings

Had bases loaded 2 outs tied bottom of 7th
And had tieing run at 2nd in bottom of 8 but could not score
 
We are a half game up on Indiana. They play PSU tomorrow and won the season series against us 2-1. I assume we finish as 6 seed if Indiana loses tomorrow and 7 seed if they win.
 
Final score Sunday: PSU 2, Indiana 0. We finished in 6th place.

Michigan leads Maryland in the 6th. If they hang on they will finish 1st or 2nd. Minnesota and Northwestern play starting at 4 PM. I think we play the loser of that game if Michigan hangs on. Minnesota and Northwestern would both have two conference losses, and Minnesota would have won 2 of 3 head to head. Rutgers was swept by NW and did not face Minnesota.
