I could understand a hard fought battle with Seton Hall squeaking out a victory. But this???? We were mauled.
Sorry ScarletteK.....I SHOULDN'T EVEN have watched...i'd been a big WBB fan here for 40 yrs approx since TSG but so much for last hurrahs here with CVS...It was yrs ago....when she let Uconn take charge in the east...all talent no result team....losing to instate small privates is more than we deserve for giving her time to redeem...Game on FoxSports2. You will not be missed. Troll, never seen you post before.
How many FINAL 4's, Elite 8's or Sweet 16's have you been in in your crummy history..Nicky. SHU- small Catholic wannabee?
Our women's basketball program is on the rise and yours is in decline.
Our men's basketball programs both stink and your football program is in trouble. Those are the facts.
But please don't say SH, really? What the hell do you think you've got there, Ohio State or Michigan East? RU is just another struggling State University trying to play with the big boys.
And so far, the results are not good despite the millions in taxpayer dollars.
ON THE RISE...LOL...HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE..HA HA..DO IT...THEN TALK..YER NOT EVEN A ST. JOHNS..LOL...LET ALONE A SCARLET KNIGHT..Nicky. SHU- small Catholic wannabee?

The team has a new coaching staff which hopefully should at least include one member who knows how to teach offense using the 3 pointer. For a team with mostly upper classmen as starters this game was a total embarrassment because the players were unprepared to play .The same old problems of excessive fouling, far too many turnovers and getting overwhelmed by 3 pointers clearly shows coaching is lacking .Seton Hall can now brag of their superiority in NJ which just shows how far this program has fallen since the final four team.C. Viv has ALWAYS been offensively challenged. There's no one on her staff to help her and her team looked embarrassingly unprepared. To lose by nearly 30 points is a disgrace! Stringer needs to answer to this because this is not just on our women but on her.

LOL...Pirate thinks SH is some kind of player after beating us for a change..lol...wow on the rise..The ignorance is alarming considering this clown spent $$$$$$$$$$$$$ for their SH diploma.
Trouble is as a fan since way back...i've heard it all from CVS...Now only RESULTS will suffice...amazing how newer fans call a thinking adult troll if they don 't keep buying the bs...All in all SH is still nobody unless they prove it more than once..The team has a new coaching staff which hopefully should at least include one member who knows how to teach offense using the 3 pointer. For a team with mostly upper classmen as starters this game was a total embarrassment because the players were unprepared to play .The same old problems of excessive fouling, far too many turnovers and getting overwhelmed by 3 pointers clearly shows coaching is lacking .Seton Hall can now brag of their superiority in NJ which just shows how far this program has fallen since the final four team.
Fans will be told that it takes time until January, 2016 before the players fully understand Stringer's complicated offensive/defensive strategies.Lots of luck believing that nonsense.
FB TEAM....you're barely a school with a 5 man BB team...You'd think you'd just won a natty..lol..YOU got it backwards large big ten wannabe. Your lucky we don't have a football team. See you at wreck in Dec. to kick your ass in men's BB!!!!!!!
Classy post...like you I've cooled down and see it more rationally....Yes we have to tip our hats to the ''Hall'' who in other circumstances i usually pull for as an old Essex County resident and having a catholic mom...What bothers me most is its been the same weak performances lately every yr like CVS is either slacking or the game is passing her by and it was ''Hall' shooting the 3's like we heard we might..In years gone by we usually opened with national type games and impressed all over the nation...LSU's, Ga,Cal,Texas etc and even in the St Joes game had many anxious moments...I'm pretty sure the ''Hall'' is better though at least this year than ''Joes''...these are tests we should be winning if were to get back to where we want to be..I still see a decent to great 25 W type of season but we'll have to work and improve to get the most out of our talented fairly deep roster this yr.I think Seton Hall has a good program and is very much improved over their past teams. I am not agreeing or disagreeing with the trolls but I feel that this team should be given credit. Coach had them ready to play and managed the game quite well.
Last season they made the NCAA tournament and the year before they took the NIT champions into multiple overtimes on a hostile court. So yes, I have to say the coach has done a fine job. SH will be a good rival going forward and it is good for New jersey but let's hope they don't "steal" our recruits LOL.
However.......I didn't expect the same results this season because they did graduate some very good players.
Seton Hall has given us trouble in the past, even when we fielded very good teams. I think the last two trips we made to their gym resulted in losses. Because of that I expected the possibility of losing this game, although it would be close.
There were so many negatives about this game, which I did see on TV, that are cause for concern. I already said more than I should have on Monday following the game, so I am ready to move on. It has always been frustrating to witness close November and December games against teams we should easily beat (with all due respect to Seton Hall.) If one follows the scoreboard, they can see how teams of similar talent to ours win by huge margins. Sometimes it is OK to see us struggle when freshman are given extended floor time, and this is good as long as we win the game.
Yes, SH went on a roll where it seemed that everything they put up went in, missed shots resulted in offensive rebounds.....sometimes several on one possession. We made mistakes on defense and there was a limited offensive flow. I was also not impressed with our performance on Friday. The fouls and turnovers must be contained, as well as the missed fast break opportunities (like passing the ball into the band on a breakaway.)
In summary, we lost to a good, intense, determined team whom we might have overlooked. We lost. But, SH isn't Duke, and a thirty point blowout is very much a cause for concern.
Just want to commend MC for a reasoned and intelligent post.
Seton Hall is likely a bit better than most RU pundits are giving them, and had a huge revenge factor as motivation. So that they played well is not a surprise.
As MC says, the reason for concern is how RU played. But a lot of season remains to be played.
Oh, and I have seen a couple of the upsets on TV already this season, including the Florida State loss and the Mississippi loss. Little of the basketball I have seen has been scintillating, particularly for the losers.
