RU vs Washington Game Perspective From Jellyman

Witnessed the game in person. This is by far the slowest Rutgers team in the last ten years. All the things that Jelly said about the atrocious play of the WR and OL and ST are true, but I think the lack of team speed at this level is particularly noteworthy and will continue to be exposed all season.

This was the most crushing defeat that I have personally witnesses in my 55 years of attending RU games. There have been more heartbreaking losses and bigger routs but I can't recall bigger disappointment. I went in with very limited expectations. I , like many others predicted a 4 win season and went on record in the game prediction thread with a 45-7 loss. But even at that, I couldn't believe the complete and utter fail at every level. There were no positives to be taken from that loss.

The one positive was that the staff did make adjustments on the fly and did make player replacements (OL and RB) that were necessary. That UW WR has been clocked in 4.2 seconds and will most likely be the fastest player we will see this year. It was unfortunate that a LB had to cover him at times. The LB needed help over the top and was left on an island.

Jelly - Great post and much appreciate your insight.
