For what it's worth, I was able to see a few of Rutgers Spring games. Never like to get ahead of myself but I believe that this yrs team will be as good as last yrs & maybe better. They really move the ball.
Last yrs frosh have improved & grown to varying degrees--that includes Gia Girmen, Emily Mason, Cassidy Banks, & Kaylie Daigle, Reilly Tiernan is who she is, on another level, & seems to have added good size. Gianna Romano, a soph last yr, has improved as well. Our other returners are all excellent.
We also have several very good recruits coming in--a talented forward, a talented center D back, a talented middie, a very good & versatile transfer from Columbia, & a very athletic & aggressive goalie. There are a couple of others who I don't know much about.
Lubos Ancin is now Associate Head Coach & both goalie & D coach. Believe that will work out very well.
Guess we'll see.

If I am counting correctly, there will be 8 returning starters, 3 experienced replacements for the 3 departing stars, and 2 other players who played significant minutes. Of those 13, 6 were sophs and 5 were frosh last year so there is a lot of room for growth and improvement in their games. Clearly, replacing Gabby, Frankie and Amirah will not be easy but it seems there will be improvement at other positions that could negate some or all of the departing skill sets. At this point, I would image that the newcomers may play decent minutes and provide depth but will not be needed to provide a solid base for the team. The team may be better but improving on last season's results will be difficult. I guess the only room for improvement there is losing less than 2 OOC games, winning the Big Ten Tourney and making and possibly winning the National Championship game.
It seems the future is bright anyway to look at it,

To hear your optimism while knowing we will need to replace players like Gabby, Frankie and Amirah is pretty darn impressive! Last year was so darn exciting...here's hoping for a repeat...at least lol! GO RU! Thanks for the write up!

Yes, & we may only lose Meg McClelland the year after. Will then be loaded with Srs & Jrs who will have played together for 3 yrs.

Since a stout D is usually O'Neill's focus, the key to another special season would seem to be the development of another forward or two who can keep the opponents D from focusing on Tiernan.

It will be interesting to see how the 2023 class ends up. There may not be a lot of time available as a pure frosh but a lot of playing time available in 2024.

Hi. I didn’t get to see any games and I will not ask for individual reports. But my question is did the three transfers suit up And play

Lowrey, Kroeger, Girman, Brocius, Daigle, in addition to Tiernan, can all find the back of the net. The new forward, Hannah Blodget looks like a scorer & the new middie Allie Post looks like a player.
I believe Daigle can be a key. Though improved she still likes to dribble first. If she continues to improve on moving the ball quickly it will help a great deal.
Ali, the scorer that she was, got better at moving the ball, though she still liked to dribble first on many or most occasions. I believe the girls mentioned above will move the ball very quickly as will our D middie Fluchel & our outside & center D backs. Believe this team will find each other quickly & be very dangerous from all positions & all angles.

Daigle will have a break out year.

Hope so. That would be huge as Mike has her playing in Frankie's spot at attacking center middie, as she did off the bench last yr. Sara Brocius is playing the other middie, looks stronger & confident & is finding the back of the net. Those two clicking with our forwards will all be tough to handle.

Is Lowery a lock to replace Ali at the striker position?

I like Lowery, but she brings a different skillset than Ali did. Ali was a magician with the ball on her feet, whereas Lowery is more of a high energy player with a strong leg, but don't think she wows as much with dribbling in traffic like Amirah did.

Yes. She had a procedure on her knee[not ligaments] & hasn't played this spring. Should be back strong for the season.
Agree with your assessment, though I think we may be better off. These girls will move the ball quickly & find each other, and all can score.
