That is not the way it is counted
- Injured reserve is viewed as a part of what got them to the championship & they get recognized - it is not like counting players on the practice squad.
For example - U of Washington is listed as having 3 players - one is Desmond Trufant on Atlanta - also on IR
- and you can rest assured every Arizona fan will say that Rob Gronkowski counts toward their presences in this game - IR or not.

By the prevailing standard for counting this kind of stuff Rutgers University leads the way this year!
