***Rutgers announces series with Boston College***

I don't agree.

Ash is looking for more regional rivalries, which I personally am more in favor of

and the game is more winnable, which we need since we're in the friggin' B1G East.

I like this move.
Why are you in favor of more regional rivalries like BC over playing Miami OOC? Next up, Ash will cancel the UCLA series & add Fruit U.

Smart move here. BC left like 12 years ago. Time to move on.

Would be in favor of this in yankee stadium. Would be a classic.

maybe it was an agreement with Miami and the ACC to swap one ACC foe for another. BC probably had openings on their schedule that other ACC teams didn't.

I am confused as to why we are paying $100,000. Didn't Miami back out of the return trip to NJ already b/c they are playing some early-season neutral site game?

I would have preferred WVU for a regional rivalry. I'd like for RU to beat them once more in my lifetime. Yeah, BC-RU has "Pinstripe Classic" written all over it.

Certainly somebody somewhere is liking the idea of getting Big Ten play going on in the New England portion of the North East - exposure has value - and in this case it may be more value than having RU in an assortment of other games in various other parts of the country. There is an audience for an RU-BC game - more so than various other match-ups. It also puts a squeeze on UCONN

We were part of the lawsuit against them leaving and now playing them?

Terrible.
Terrible? Its wonderful! Dude we won!! Can't wait until they come to Rutgers Stadium and their fans sees that Big Ten logo on the field. We can thank them for speeding up the process.
Would love to see Bob Mulchay walk onto the field before kickoff and stand right next to the B1G logo, point to it with one hand and face the visitors section and give them the bird!![banana]

That's what I'd like to know. Last I heard (and I don't believe I heard the last thing) was that RU was going to Miami in 2019 and the return trip was TBD instead of 2018 so they could play LSU in Arlington. Why should RU have to buy out when Miami already postponed our home game?

Or care. We are in the Big Ten now. Why would anyone care anymore?

This is my thinking. People complain about SEC teams playing local powers and cupcakes and never leaving their region. RU should consider playing BC, Cuse, Pitt, and WVU home and home every decade so we can stay in our region.

what do we gain playing BC? At least playing the Canes it is good for recruiting..playing BC just allows the elite North Jersey people to see BC friends and family play. vrs kids we have on team and kids we could land playing in FLA.DUMB MOVE..

i think the notion of regional rivalries is a good thing for any program. and we dont have enough of those now that we're in the B1G.

I also like this because we have our hands full with our current division. we don't need to play a top notch team with our out of conference schedule.

I like the idea of regional rivalries but it's a mistake to re-establish the BC relationship. We've given BC a lifeline when they're desperate to revive the NY/CT/NJ recruiting area that they've been pretty much frozen out from.
