No matter what Rutgers accomplish in the next few years, you're still going to have haters. There are plenty of Iowa fans talking sh*t about Rutgers after the beatdown... F'em. There are Wisconsin fans talking sh*t about Rutgers. There's a Wisky fan, Eric the red, who is leading the pack. I know why they are hating because they fear Rutgets has the ability to pass them.
FYI, I don't want B1G guards. I want Big East type guards because they are not only better athletes, but have killer instincts. JPO said it best for Rutgers. "We weren't invited into the B1G, we kicked in the door and turn up the party."

Two wrongs don't make a right...keep it classy!

Cubby-
Fans are people with their own character traits and personalities.
If it’s your personality to be abrasive and kick down doors, so be it.

I will always be humble in victory and respectfull, it’s just the way I was taught, I don’t care how someone else acts.

There is room for everyone

I give credit to those who earned it. What I can't stand is the spitting in the face disrespect. No more punchlines. My approach has always been to kick your *ss on the field, then say good game. After that i'll never mention you again as if you've never existed before. That gets under the skin of haters more than anything.

I think (hope) what Doug is saying in his post (not his title) is what he wants in our players, not in our fans trolling other fanbases.

And on that I totally agree.

I want our team to play fearless, play ferocious defense, play with confidence, and a little bit of swagger.
Not to show anyone up.
But to show this isn’t the same old Rutgers and you’re not going to shit on us any longer.

You may beat us, but you’re going to have to earn it.

And I love that attitude.
Big East basketball in its heyday.

As far as the fan base, I agree with Zap. Stay humble, and enjoy the journey. Let’s continue to be known as a classy fan base.

We definitely have potential to be the biggest d***s among B1G fan bases, just not really feasible when you're finishing in last all the time. At my advanced age and growing midwesternness I won't be contributing much to this* but a lot of people will.

* if a PSU fan wants to poke the hive, all bets are off

Eh **** them. I not only wanna beat teams, i wanna try our best to embarrass them. This is jersey. We dont apologize, we beat your ass and then run your shit. **** everyone. Were playing for keeps
Yes...some of us even revert to grade school and stalk 18yos on twatter to get that all important and well documented “get inside their head” advantage...whatever would coach P do without that!?[roll]

When you start winning games the punchlines stop.
When you win too much then the haters really get going i.e. Duke.
Hopefully we will get to that stage of people hating us soon.
Don't really care what others think as long as our kids play hard, tough, smart basketball and are gracious in both victory and defeat.
Class is important. It's a trait very few haters have.

I'm not into trolling them like they do to us. I'm all about beating that *ss on the court or field fair and square every time. You know what bullies dislike the most? They don't like being ignored so guys like Wisconsin's Eric the red blows his stack when Wisconsin take an "L" on a regular basis from Rutgers. Do some of you remember the guy Bees from Syracuse? He went MIA on their board after Rutgers started B slapping the Orange every year under Schiano. We as Rutgers fans didn't have to say a word to make him disappear on all boards. SU board had real concerns for Bees well being. That's how I wanted it around here.

Midwesterness was a thing when I was out there 45 years ago. Took a kid from Jersey a while to get used to it. Nice to know it still exists.

God I hope it isn’t a football player since that program is in the eternal whipping boy status in the conference. Oh shoo it is. Yeah those words by him are hollow now

I don't know about all this beatdown trash talk stuff, never really engaged in that type of stuff. When I played my mentality was, I was never satisfied with a win as I could always do better. Strange I know, but I never really celebrated like my teammates. More a sense of relief than jubilation, as winning was more our job and what we just accomplished was doing our job. I had a very workman like attitude. When losing no matter the margin I was enraged, losing was the worst humiliation one could ever experience. I took loses harder than most and fueled my anger towards the next opponent.

I guess I was just a pretty pissed off kid and young adult growing up. But it's how my brain worked. Thus why today I don't get the puffing out one's chest during a win on other boards. However, when opposing fans post here after a Rutgers loss you will get my full vengeance for committing such an act. Kind of like that protect your home turf at all cost mentality.

I agree
Protect home turf

But on our boards
Not on the opponents boards.

I am sure that is what you are saying.

I'm not talking about returning the favor. I'm talking about kicking *ss and taking names tour. You don't have to like us, but we'll stop the disrespecting soon enough.

You are not going to stop the disrespecting.....even with multiple wins. They will find other things to say. Just stay classy like the other poster said.

Nah, just a level headed observer.

No it's really a jerk thing to say. You're a hater and always have been. You have never had anything positive to say about our program or our recruits and if you did it was begrudgingly. If you think we're such a joke, you should keep it to yourself on our board. In case you haven't noticed we don't really like people insulting us here.

But University of Compass Point Florida, wow they're awesome!

Ehhhh when the Iowa fans came here after their luck win being obnoxious for days they deserve us ripping them on their board after this smack down.

There were a few fans giving us props but most of them are trashing our program and our state. If they want to go there then it isn't very Jersey like to turn the other cheek. You start it we end it is more Jersey style.

What does Iowa have anyway? Corn and Steve King? It's a fly over nothing forgotten state for a reason that has no business thinking they can look down on Jersey.

If you are playing the "name all 50 states" game and you're stuck on 49... You're probably forgetting insignificant Iowa

It's really nice. I'm not even anywhere near the Midwest but just moving a few miles south and a few miles west a few times I began to notice a difference. Another good thing is that it's not in diametric opposition to being direct with people when there's a problem. Can (at least try to) have the best of both worlds.
