Well, 28-12 sucks when it could've easily been 28-24 (or 23 after the missed XP) if AK could've hit those two fairly easy TDs, but my fear remains that we simply cannot stop them. At all.
And yet that was our only chance to score a touchdown. Unfortunately Duff isn't 9 feet tall to catch those fades.
The one small saving grace is that RU's offense is not going 3 and out giving USC more possessions.
Disagree. I liked the play calling there. Just didn’t execute. AK not composed and not getting it done.
I think the advantage we had with Wimsatt was he was a good running option in the red zone that AK isn’t. AK is more reliable passer when not pressured, but not very reliable when pressured, which is a wash. I see the GW to AK exchange as a net neutral at best.
But AK isn’t winning games with his arm. GW did win games with his feet.

As it turned out - this was huge. Folks can complain all they want and blame the QB or wide outs. But not having a time out there was a huge difference. It was a situation where UsC was free to interfere every play. What was the difference - the ball would move up inches and we couldn’t run it anyway.
The two streak routs could have been touch downs. The receivers were wide open.

Agreed, running with 15 seconds left means you likely only get one play, spike it and then kick a FG. We at least got 3 shots and if AK could've hit KM, we score.
Exactly. Look Greg didn’t know he’d need to burn a time out when AK didn’t get out of bounds. But we shouldn’t have burned the one before. We needed to have a time out in the bank.
If they gave it to him on 4th down, he would have been hit before he took the handoff.
Sorry but Gavin played his heart out last year and he was crucified!! AK throws behind his receivers , over his receivers and is so bad on the long ball it’s laughable. So im going to criticize him because this isn’t your old college football anymore
The timeout before was to avoid a clock run off. If you don’t use a timeout like 10secs gets run off the clock.
I don't trust Athan in the red zone. Open or not, I don't care, he's not making those plays. Our only chance to score there was running the ball, even on 4th down.
We run and don’t get in, we run the clock out on ourselves. We’d all lose our minds there too.

It was the intentional grounding where schiano took the timeout to avoid a run off. It wasn’t a wasted timeout. Bac didn’t know the rule and I am sure would admit to it
I don’t know the real time timing of that post. The time out before the AK one was not necessary in my opinion.
The missed throws could cost us the game. And he nearly threw an INT in the red zone. He’s not awful, but not good tonight.
Yep and I also don't know why we don't try rolling AK out at all. Maybe there'd be daylight to run it in or maybe he'd have a bit more time to hit a WR and at a minimum, maybe the simple element of surprise could help.
After a play doesn't work, a few guys say "What a terrible play" call lol. They wear hindsight glasses.
