Rutgers Gives Offer on Pikes Birthday

What do you do if you are a Rutgers Hoops Coach and it’s your birthday? If you are Steve Pikiell, you call an old friend on the phone and offer his son a basketball scholarship. Well, today Walter Ray Allen lll, a Gulliver Prep , Florida Class of 2023 point guard, was offered a scholarship by Rutgers University. This was reported earlier today by Verbal Commits.

I'm perfectly fine with continuing to bring in sons of great NBA players. I know he's only a sophomore, but this will give Pike time to build that relationship (which is something he excels at doing).

Getting on guys early is definitely important but coaches can't contact sophomores until June 15.
