Rutgers Offers 8th Grader from Florida

Like it or not, this is the new reality. Recruits constantly talk about wanting to commit to or stick with the schools that recruited them first. If it is important to them, it is going to be important to the coaches.

Rutgers also offered Rashan Gary in 8th grade. At least our 8th grade offers have been good ones to date!

The earlier you offer the longer you wait. Still waiting on 2016. It really is getting absurd. Can any of you be honest and remember who you were in 8th grade? It is embarrassing when a middle aged man, who is a stranger, is intruding into a little boys life. Do we really need another law to try and legislate human decency and maturity. I don't care who else did it too. It is sick.

He posted his highlights on Hudl, I am guessing he and his parents do not mind a little intrusion.

Nope, in fact, I earned a technical degree at a school across the street from a Rutgers campus. Then a Masters from another NJ University. What difference does that make anyway, unless it makes you feel better, in some strange way. Who were you in 8th grade? A man of the world, in your own mind, I presume?

Think of most other sports, soccer, tennis, golf, basketball. By the time kids are in 8th grades most talented players in coordination with their parents have sellected a club team to coach their kids, personal traners are in place for most. If the rare talent here and there express intrest via a written correspondence, or offer no biggie. To the extent there is texting or personal contact, I agree some rules regarding parental consent should apply. Anyone know contact rules for pre-HS, or if they exist? No psu jokes please.
