Rutgers: 'Prepare to meet your doom!'

No idea ... I live in Alaska which is about a 3 1/2 hour flight from Seattle. Weed is legal here also but I don't smoke it myself.

Ganja Goddess. See: http://www.ganjagoddessseattle.com/home

As for Pioneer Square, lots and lots of "street peoples" thereabouts, and many are kids. Couple of shootings when I was there in April. Drug related. Meth and H. Look past that, and the city is aces. The U district is neat.

For those of you making the trip to Seattle for the game I suggest you take a quick ferry ride to the islands. There's always the chance of spotting killer whale (orca). I you don't have time for that at least try to make it down the the waterfront.

Hear you. Spending a couple of days in the San Juan Islands before the game.

Purple Dawg- can you recommend a company to rent a yacht for the weekend? How far are the docks from nightlife?

Thanks.
A few people replied to my question on the Washington board and both of them said just to call around to find the best deal. I don't think anyone on that board has ever rented a yacht. Most of them have their own boats or ride with friends or relatives. There's waterside bars within a 15 minute boat ride of Husky Stadium on the Lake Union side. The bars on Lake Washington (where Husky Stadium is located) are across the lake for the most part and that lake is big ...like really big.

Lake Union is your best bet. There's a canal that connects Lake Union with Lake Washington .. the UW campus is on that canal. Lake Union is in the heart of Seattle and again it takes just a few minutes to drive your boat from that lake over to Lake Washington.

You can see Husky Stadium on this map down below.

This will be a very good and I predict closer game than people predict. Chris Peterson is a great hire for Washington but Ash is too for Rutgers . Seattle is a great city with lots of great restaurants ; Univ of Washington is a fine school ( although Washington Univ in St Louis is even better) and this road trip is definitely worth the effort and money if people are thinking of going.

Not going but appreciate when opposing fans help with game day experience.
To the OP, I lived on Whidbey Island for a bit back in the day. I'm not earthy enough to ever relocate there but it was beautiful and a great experience.

I think the game will be a close one mainly for the fact both offenses will be still trying to adjust. First game of the season is always a tough one for offenses.

As far as academics ... Washington University in St. Louis has a great law school but other than that the University of Washington has the edge for sure.

The University of Washington remained No. 15 on the 2015 Academic Ranking of World Universities, conducted by researchers at the Center for World-Class Universities of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, which was released Monday.

The UW again ranked 13th among U.S. universities and fourth among public institutions worldwide. 11. Washington
The Huskies are poised for a breakthrough year in Chris Petersen’s third season. Talented sophomores Jake Browning and Myles Gaskin are two of the Pac-12’s top players on offense, while the defense returns eight starters from a unit that allowed only 18.8 points a game last year.

TOP TRUE FRESHMEN BY POSITION

Quarterback
Jake Browning, Washington, +16.5

While Josh Rosen got off to the better start, Browning had a strong finish and posted positive grades in five of his last six games. His accuracy percentage of 74.6 percent ranked second among the nation’s true freshmen.

Runner up: Josh Rosen, UCLA

Running back
First Team: Myles Gaskin, Washington, +24.4

Similar to the quarterback competition, Gaskin battled Penn State’s Saquon Barkley all season before finishing with a flurry. He ranked second among the true freshmen in missed tackles forced (51) and third in elusive rating (95.9), all while averaging 3.65 yards after contact per rush.

Second Team: Saquon Barkley, Penn State, +12.1

Purple_Dawg,
Why'd you change your name to Alaska_Dawg?

I couldn't be happier that the Huskies are ranked so high. When we kick your ass then the world will know right away that Rutgers is for real and the Ash Era has arrived.

By the way, what message board do most Husky fans converse on? I found a small one but all they were talking about was the fourth game of the season, the Stanford game. I like that we'll come flying in under the radar.

Name change was due to a bad moderator and global bans. Not sure about the Washington boards these days, I stick to a Washington Huskies Facebook group and a PAC-12 Facebook group.

Some illiterate fans might be overlooking the Rutgers game, but coach Petersen won't be for sure. I'm thinking Washington wins it by 10.

Take ESPiN Big Ten Blog with a grain of salt. The author of the article Brian Bennett goes back a long way with Rutgers since the Big East days. Bennett was the Big East Blogger for ESPiN and took cheap shots at Rutgers on a regular. Now that Rutgers is in the Big Ten he has started doing it all over again.

My move to Washington will be complete if we can beat the Huskies. Possible but not probable is my opinion. I'll be sitting in the upper deck on the 40 yd line, but will visit the Ru section before the start of the game. Anyone, did I purchase good seats?

What Husky stadium does have ... and most of us want it gone, is 'The Zone'. It's nothing more than a giant bar between the water and the stadium. People go there at halftime to load up on booze & food and end up staying there watching the game on big screen TV's. The ones sober enough to walk make it back to their seats somewhere in the middle of the 3rd qtr.

It's still a few months away from kickoff.

Few Months ?
The opening game is only 8 weeks away.

Your Husky Athletic Dept. better start their mass donations of tickets to get fans in the Stadium for Sept. 3rd.

8 weeks = two months

two months = a few months.

There's plenty of time to sell those tickets. :)

Not so fast my friend.
Two months never equals a few months.
Few = 3 or more
A Couple = 2.
Fact is the Opening game is 8 weeks away ( 2 months ....not a few months)
2nd Fact = As of this morning on One Ticket Site alone - Monster Ticket has thousands of Washington Husky game tickets for sale for September 3rd. These tickets were just a representative of tickets on one lower side of the Stadium-101 to 110.

Ticket sales should pick up once school begins. That and people getting back from vacation / trips, etc...

On the flip side the UW AD has done a horrible job of marketing Washington football. She sucks.
