Basketball Rutgers versus Michigan State at MSG -- Jan 25th

I don’t mind a “home” game at MSG, but if it is considered a “home” game:

1. Rutgers should be given 16,500 out of the 18,000 seats, and MSU should be given 1,500 in the upper corner of the arena, just like it would be for a normal home game.

2. MSU should not be permitted to bring its pep band.

3. There should not be any “green” Spartan signs or indicia anywhere in the arena.

In other words, the arena cannot be set up like one of the neutral site tournament games but then merely labeled a Rutgers home game. If the NCAA is going to consider this a Rutgers home game for NET purposes, then the arena must be handled like a RUTGERS venue. Period.
This times a million

We get 2 5* recruits, 2 4* recruits, 3 very good portal transfers and are close to adding 2 more 4* 2025 recruits and doing well with 2 4* 2026 recruits and some fans complaining about MSG.....??

You would think this game was a Mohegan Sun or UBS arena on Long Island.....it's MSG!!

The levels of hypocritical comments is maddening.....do you think we get Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper by hiding out in the RAC, or by playing in MSG, Vegas and anywhere else....??

The game is a National Broadcast on CBS and another comment was a random freak injury that just so happened at MSG and the comment was an injury that haunted the program.....LMAO

It's OK to point out some random good luck or bad luck situations, but does anyone really believe that this game isn't going to be an "event".....there is a drastic difference between a random conference game in late January and early February and a game at MSG against the blue-blood of the league.

Still have fans in a small time mindset, while the B1G drags these fans, kicking and screaming to the promised land of relevance.

This x 100000

I have no problem with playing a home game at MSG as long as it’s treated like a home game.

It never is though. So while it’s “cool” to play at MSG and it gives the opportunity for fans to attend who can’t get into the RAC, we are sacrificing a weekend home game at the RAC for an atmosphere that will be great, but not as difficult for MSU had they had to play us at home. They could bring 5,000 fans at MSG if they wanted to. No chance they get more than 500 at the RAC.

I’m tired of bending over in these deals to MSU year in and year out.

Not sure why this is so hard to understand…

I don’t there are many who don’t like playing at the Garden. As I have said repeatedly, do it every year…St. John’s or any other NYC local, Syracuse, UConn, a true blue blood from anywhere, a holiday tournament, a preseason tournament, etc.

But why the barnstorming? It’s been over a decade now we’re a B1G school.

I love that we are playing at the garden.
I just don’t want us to get 9 B1G home games and 1 Neutral site that is scored as a home game in the NET.

A lot of us are just saying the other team (that didn’t give up a B1G home game) should not be treated as an equal during the game at MSG.

But MSU had a good amount of prime seats at half court. We were upstairs in our own home court.
Fair point. But I bought the morning of the MSU game downstairs from what turned out to be RU alums and was surrounded by other RU fans. I really didn't notice a large contingent of MSU fans in the prime seats. They have a huge following after decades of success with Izzo and the Magic years. But MSG was very pro RU that day.
