Rutgers Visits Blake Harris, 17 PG

Mizzou may also land 5-star forward Kevin Knox. I think Knox is on an OV in CoMo right now.

I could see Nike making that happen to help get Cuonzo off to a good start
If Nike has the power to "make it happen," why does the recruit need to visit schools at all? Nike can just inform him where he's going once it's been decided. Would certainly free up the recruit's time.

For many reasons, and keep in mind that each recruitment is its own entity.

All of the schools that Knox is considering are Nike schools so that's a factor.

Kids LOVE taking these visits. They'd take more than 5 if they were allowed...and why not...they get treated almost like royalty.

Plus, when Nike guides a kid's recruitment they don't want it to look like they are guiding a kid's recruitment. So your suggestion of not taking any visits wouldn't work for the swoosh.

In the case of Kevin Knox, his decision will be his own but I could see Nike trying to make something happen for Cuonzo like they *cough* did for him at California

I know Knox is visiting Mizzou but still would be shocked if he didn't end up at Duke.
Someone asked me on Thursday where I thought Kev was going and I said Duke. Then Sunday I talked to his dad and he was really excited about Mizzou and the possibility of his son playing with Porter.

This staff can't catch a break at all on the recruiting trail...
Recruiting isn't about staff catching a break but rather having a recruit think more highly of one school versus all the others.Mens basketball coaches at Rutgers have all faces the same dilemma trying to change perception of the program with recruits.Closing the deal is the best way of determining how successful Coach Pikiell and staff will be meeting that challenge.

This is a little surprise that he didn't even take his other visits. I thought there was a better chance we might lose him to Michigan State or Connecticut. We never even got a chance to be the last visit. Hopefully we can land a highly rated prospect soon who can play this coming season.
