"Hard to believe how the protection can be so lacking"

Indictment by a former head coach. Analysts are usually less openly critical.

Nice way to end the half! Can't blame talent there. Great clock management! All coaching!

How can we sell tickets next season after watching the performance of this season ?

Much worse than I could ever imagine.

Coach gave up by not calling a time out, even if it's just to think about whether to run a play or just take a knee.

He didn't give up, he just doesn't know the end half process well enough yet. hey, he's learning.

Since the OC knows they can't block, why call that play

Actually I agree on that one!

Bottom line is they're going to blitz every single play they can, and we know it, so let's make a change at the half and see what happens.

Throw into end zone? Pass interference? Please try or should we punt from the 30 again?

Coach quit on team?

Clock management under pressure not as easy as it appears. Especially with little experience.

Iowa? REALLY? Yeah it was Ash' fault that Laviano didn't make a pitch a 2-year old could make. It was Ash' fault that Laviano didn't hit a wide-open Harris, twice, for TD's.

Illinois? TURNOVERS!!!

Nowhere did I "praise" this staff, btw, I just find the bashing to be ignorant and unrealistic at this point.
Blaming it all on Laviano?
How about how the play-calling that series of downs

1-G at Iowa03 Oden, Tylin rush for 1 yard to the IOWA2 (Nelson, Anthony;Johnson, Jaleel).
Ru 2-G at Iowa02 Oden, Tylin rush for no gain to the IOWA2 (Jewell, Josey;Snyder, Brandon).
Ru 3-G at Iowa02 Laviano, Chris rush for loss of 1 yard to the IOWA3 (Jewell, Josey;Hesse, Parker).
Ru 4-G at Iowa03 Timeout Rutgers, clock 02:10.
Ru 4-G at Iowa03 Laviano, Chris rush for 2 yards to the IOWA1 (Jewell, Josey).

Did Keith Lumpkin really mask how bad the OL was? Or are they just unable to understand the different blocking schemes for the power spread?

I put those 3 PLAYS (the pitch and the 2 horribly thrown balls to a wide-open Harris) on Laviano. Absolutely.

BTW - show me a single NFL OC who doesn't multiple make bad play calls every Sunday. EVERY, SINGLE, SUNDAY. Some of you people, I swear, you don't watch ANY football other than our games. I'm convinced!

(okay, just kidding, sorry...)

Gio needs to bring his offensive linemen boxes of doughnuts. Then they would block for him better or else no more doughnuts for them!
