RUTGERS vs Maryland Game Thread :

Incidentally I'm torn about the osu Um game. I despise michigan but if osu wins penn state likely eins the big ten east and of course I hate them much more than michigan.
Yeah this is a dilemma. I hate PSU but Michigan is becoming more of a recruiting problem. And OSU is the only team I think can take on Alabama.

What do ypu expect.
This team is showing it doesn't have the talent or coaching to compete with B1G middle of the pack programs and of the B1G bottom feeders the Rutgers FB program might have to look up to them to. .

Funny we "competed" with both Iowa (8-4) and Minnesota (8-3) this year. I guess you missed those games? There is a huge talent gap, and we do lack athleticism - it was shockingly noticeable against PSU/MSU/OSU/Mich/Wash - if you can't see it I don't know what to tell you.

RU scored hope by end of game my assessment is proven wrong, but for now I will stamnd by my opinion that Ash does deserve a lot of the blame for the way this team has played this season.

We were given a gift of offsides when lined up to punt, that kept the eventual TD drive alive.

wait we dont have any talent, how did we compete..you cant have it both ways. Its a combination of everything Madhat posted

If you've been following my posts I've made it very clear that the talent discrepancy rears its ugly head against specific teams (see: OSU/Mich/MSU/PSu/Wash) which is why all goes to hell in those games. Versus Iowa Laviano shit the bed. Versus Illinois we turned the ball over 5 times. We went head-to-head with Minny. That, to me, proves the staff isn't far off. It's the other games where people are bitching about coaching that I disagree wholeheartedly. The talent disparity is stunning.

Guys i take everything back, i was clearly overreacting to a slow start. We are still totally in the game and have a completely legitimate chance of winning.

I am predicting a win today......still. We need to learn how to play the first quarter better

If the leaders of next year's team can't get the roster fired-up to play, from play #1, Ash might need to bring a shrink in because something just doesn't make sense.

Offense moving the ball decently well right now. Would love to win this today and go into the offseason with positive signs of life.

So RU has enough talent to compete, Ash just doesn't know how pull out wins against the Iowa and Minnesota's . Illinois is another school that supposedly lacks talent, but their HC found a way to win against Rutgers.
Indiana isn't a powerhouse, but was good enough to beat RU in a close game. The powerhouses mauled RU like they did in the Flood years.
Ash deserves a mulligan for this season, not praise because he lost some close games.
Some of those games might have been lost because of poor coaching decisions.
Believe in Ash all you want, but don't expect the same blind faith that most RU fans had at the beginning of this season to continue after seeing the product Ash puts on the field every game.

3rd and 7 and the call a screen 10 yards behind the LOS.

Get Mehringer the fuk out of here

I hear Houston needs a new grad assistant

No ST, I get it. But speed doesn't put two potential tacklers completely out of the way in a position to make absolutely no tackles. I guess it's too much to ask for coaching from Okruch.

Rutgers has to go for it on 4th and 7. Our special team play is very poor. Maryland has the ball back to where we kicked from.
