RUTGERS vs Maryland Game Thread :

So far, Ash's big accomplishments were eliminating the Horse Video, eliminating the signing of the Alma Mater and he got rid of the new-age uniforms & helmets that the players loved.

Can't wait to see next years "improvements".

It's coaching and talent but here's the thing: if the talent is poor, and it is, even the ghost of fvcking Vince Lombardi isn't going to be able to make much of it. You are still going to stink. Ash and his staff may or may not improve but with the players we have we were never going to be anything but some degree of bad.

while this is true, what is concerning is this season did not move the needle at all in thinking Ash is the right guy, what it does is make it harder and makes it up to him to prove himself in year 2 and 3. All the fans have right now is blind faith because there is no evidence yet. Its like we have to wait for the trial to begin year3 but the opening evidence looks damning. Things can change but if anyone says they are not concerned with how badly we are prepared each week and how we are practically the worst team out of 128 in the country in alot of aspect of our game, they are lying. That being said he will get to year3 to prove himself

I wouldn't blame the coach if he pulled the team off the field and simply forfeited the game.

My Lord they're out in full force today.

I think people have good reason to be..its Maryland, basically in the same boat as us the last few years....I heard everyone laugh at them and downplay them yet they are going to a bowl game. At least we dont have fans making fun of no one in the stands as if that is what a program is judged on

Every team that beat us this year should send us a bouquet of flowers and a thank you because we helped make them all bowl eligible.

I have to question if part of the "preparation" issue is just a matter of the older guys simply not caring at this point. The dropped passes, missed tackles, etc., are mostly guys who have been around for a while and are ending their careers. Even Darius looks completely uninspired out there right now. Just gotta get this "old blood" out of the system.

Heard he is pushing for an extension for Drew M.

Memo to Mehringer:

Maryland gives up 7th most sacks in all of college football with a terrible line... yet still find ways to be creative with their playcalling and score points.

If you have a lousy coach who is bad at game day coaching but good at recruiting that's better than a lousy coach who is good at game day coaching but bad at recruiting. At least the first type of coach leaves you with talent. So far it seems like Ash is good at recruiting, especially when you consider the headwinds. That beats our previous coach, who was good at neither but especially bad at recruiting. Ash can improve his staff, in theory anyway, but a bad recruiter is always bad.
