I picked us to lose by plus 14, other than the WSU game in which we got lucky we don't usually play well on the west coast.

Sounds a lot like 49ers fans.
49er fans were a decent lot when they played in Frisco and once they built that ugly monstrosity in Santa Clara it went to hell for them. That is not a football stadium, it's an events center full of hipster techies.

I would love to believe that our defense has improved so much that we can expect to hold Washington in he 20s in a high snap game early season game where wind and cold won't be a factor ...but I don't see it

We need to score a bunch of points to come away with a win ...thinking need mid 30s To have a shot to get a win here

I did my basic training in New Jersey years ago at Ft. Dix ('82) and I never saw a venomous snake in my life until then. Watermoccisons and cottonmouths along with some insect that looks like a giant grasshopper that has a big ol shell on it. One landed on my shoulder when I was in formation and it scared the hell out me as did the lightening storms back there.
Those are just everyday Jersey mosquitoes. Very common here.
Now if you came across the Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake, not good at all and they are around.

I don't know this Alaska_Dawg well, but I know that Alaska_Guy is the king of rivals!

The game will be a tough one for us. I see UDub 34 - RU - 16.

No .. these things were like giant grasshoppers with a hard shell. And they were super ugly looking. They hung out in the trees.

10 Best College Football Defenses For 2016

6. Washington
Defensive coordinators almost never become household names outside of the SEC, but the Pac-12 has a guy in Pete Kwiatkowski who’ll be a national superstar soon. His defense replaced seven starters last season and still led the conference in scoring and total D – and now he has veterans to work with.

USC might have more talent on defense, and Stanford will be fine, but the Dawgs have the killers, especially in the secondary in Budda Baker and Sidney Jones. The front three won’t give up a thing against the run with Elijah Qualls heading it up, and the linebacking corps has the veterans to be steady.

Can Washington Crash the College Football Playoff Party?
The Huskies sudden transformation over the past year or so has the team primed for a run at the Pac-12 title, and possibly much, much more.

Common mistake but we actually we don't have eastern diamondbacks here:

New Jersey has timber rattlers:

They have stripes, not diamonds.

Sounds like a sequel to sharknado - Hoppernado, the Plague Continues and of course, only part 1.
Also trained at Ft. Dix, but when everybody used a M-1. Talk about bad timing, missed the Mets World Series games and Princeton vs RU 100th Anniversary game at home. Almost like missing the Apple Bowl because the salmon were running.

Check out Cicadas. I'm pretty sure that's what you encountered. Kinda of lucky for you as a visitor to NJ because they usually show up every 7 years, but it could be 2 - 17 years. They ALMOST look edible.in a gumbo.

Washington State doesn't have one of these ...but you can see this natty inside the entrance of Husky Stadium. :)

Why is there a giant egg in the building? Does it have something to do with winning the 12 egg omelette challenge at Beth's cafe in Seattle?
