Rutgers Wrestling ---- NCAA Tournament / Updates & Results (All Sessions)

I'm sure Perrotti wants another shot at Wilson. Sucks he won't be at 100%.

I just watched Perrotti's match again and he appears to reinjure his rib at the 1:45 mark of the first by simply lunging in chest first to get a grip or underhooks on DM. No kick at all.

There will come a time soon that having 2 AA's, both in the wrestlback brackets, is considered a total disapointment..... But until then, I'm gonna celebrate the fact we have 2 AA's!! Great job this year by everyone associated with the Rutgers program!! Obviously, the coaches and wrestlers...But also the training and support staff, who do alot of behind the scenes work!! Thanks to guys like Bill, Josh, and the many others who put in so much time and effort with SKWC!! Also thanks to guys like Tango, Abro, Obrats, and others who post all the updates, all the links to ranking sites, and cool articles!! This program has a long, long ways to go to get to being an elite program...But each season we get closer and closer!! Each year, this program becomes more and more fun to watch!! And lastly, thanks to all you hardcore badasses here on this board...We may not always agree on a lot of topics..But there is ONE thing we all agree on....We all LOVE RU wrestling!!! good night all, and let's enjoy tomorrow as a fanbase!! We all deserve it!! Go RU!!

At least it happened then....Woulda been just crushing if that happened in Blood rd..

Actually I'm hearing he reaggravated it against Brennan in the Blood round but was able to finish and win. Against McFadden (DePaul HS/Va Tech) it got even worse. Hope he's able to go today.

Also, I heard a term used from the commentators I had never heard before: the 'Semi Slide'. They explained that when wrestlers lose in the Semi's , they lose focus in the consys, and sometimes 'slide' all the way back to 4, 5 or 6th place by losing the next 2 against the wrestle back guys. Interesting. Let's hope AA is still focused on 3rd.

This Morning 11 am :

ESPNU covering the action as well as WatchESPN app (Espn3 the online stream). Hoping Perrott is feeling good enough to wrestle, he was in pain from reinjuring his rib last night.

# 4 Anthony Ashnault vs # 7 Solomon Chisko , Va Tech

Abro or anyone with knowledge-- I'm trying to get this set up for my dad and i'm not the most tech savvy.. do you know to what extent the ESPNU coverage will be? I have an iPad that I am going to look into getting espn3 on.

I'm assuming Ash will be on ESPNU, but not sure if they will air Perotti so I guess i will have to get that streamed.

I really enjoy reading through all of these to see where things could go. If I am reading it correct it has finals and consolation wrestlers left per school? If that is the case(unless I'm not reading it correctly which is highly possible) just a FYI, Nebraska has 3 kids left and not 2. 1 in the finals and 2 wrestling for other places. Thanks
Good luck to AA and AP today!!!

I think you are reading it right. Good luck.

30 minutes until the final day of #WrestleNYC begins. No. 4 Anthony Ashnault vs. Solomon Chisko (VT) on deck mat 3 in conso semis.

There will be 3 mats of action. So have your TV on ESPNU, and also have your IPad ESPNWatch App open. I'll post Mat assignments so in case Perrotti's match is no on ESPNU , you can follow on ESPNwatch.

Right now Ashnault on deck Mat 3

AA up 5-1 end of 2. The commentary w Coach Pollard very interesting, nice mention of good RU turnout crowd.
Jersey Tough ! Commenting now on the RAC being a good venue for wrestling.

Ashnault dominated. Great air time on ESPNU with the match full screen, announcers talking up Rutgers & Pollard interview. Now let's beat McKenna for 3rd! It's gonna be a battle.

First day I'm not at the Garden with the crowd, but loved the coverage watching from TV. Pleasantly surprised by the solid coverage for Ashnault and the program while highlighting the strong Rutgers presence at MSG.

Nearly set to begin the #WrestleNYC Medal Matches. 3rd, 5th, 7th will start at 125 pounds and work up. Ashnault in the hole mat 2.

AP up later Mat 3

ASH loses 7-6, will be 4th on the AA Podium. McKenna only a freshman, so Ashnault will see him down the road most likely.

Congrats to a great season for Anthony Ashnault
