“I leave this building, and I’m a Rutgers man,” Ash said. “That’s my future. That’s what I’m looking forward to. But I want to finish here.”

One day last week in front of the cameras at Ohio State and during a Big Ten Network television appearance, Ash wore a scarlet-colored shirt with no team logo.

“I wasn’t going to wear an Ohio State shirt out of respect for Rutgers, and I wasn’t going to wear a Rutgers shirt out of respect for Ohio State,” Ash said. “I did that purposely. A red shirt that would be appropriate for both places. There was a reason for that.”
