The tail-end of the piece on NJ.com:
For Ash to focus on the Rutgers job while the Syracuse gig was still on the table is a good indication that he is confident that the issues enveloping the previous regime won't result in major NCAA infractions.

"That came up,'' Ash said. "I wanted to make sure I was going to go into a program that wasn't necessarily going to put themselves in jeopardy of having NCAA sanctions that limit your ability to recruit and compete the way that you want to be able to.

"I don't know the depth of the issues and the investigation, but I've been assured that those types of sanctions should not come down.''
Take away from it what you will, but you could easily infer that Hobbs and Barchi are confident that the results of self-reporting aren't going to involve the kinds of sanctions that would cost us scholarships or post-season opportunities.

Who said we self reported anything? Did a report come out that I missed? Did a story from the press come out with information that we did something wrong and we self reported it? All I know is we hired a law firm to review our processes. Lets stop making stuff up and then believing it to be true. Again did I miss something?

From the same article:
During the compliance investigation into Flood's alleged attempt to get the grade changed of one of his players, Rutgers retained outside counsel with expertise in NCAA infractions to help identify any potential rules violations. A university spokesman at the time called it "an ongoing and rigorous process'' and said working with Kansas-based Bond, Schoeneck & King would "help us to identify any shortcomings, to self-report them as required by NCAA rules and to remedy them as best practices demand.''

Where does it say we self reported anything? All that says is why we hired them, not that anything came of it.
If it helps you to move on from the position you seem committed to staking out on this minor, rhetorical misunderstanding, please substitute the words, "the investigation," for "self-reporting."

I wasn't implying that Rutgers had "self-reported" anything; the point was that the outcome of the investigation is -- according to Hobbs and Barchi, implicitly -- unlikely to result in sanctions that will result in loss of scholarships or a post-season ban.

Thanks.

Can someone explain what the NCAA policy is on drug tests. Is it different in Colorado than in NJ? Is there an NCAA rule that says what the school must do with a player who fails a test? I think the Star Liar is reaching just like they always do.

Correct (as opposed to Silencer's claim of people saying "lack of institutional control" lol...sorry that still cracks me up!!)

that would be good news and yes no info has been released to the public--contrary to what some kep asserting

I don't trust the NCAA for one minute - to paraphrase Jerry Tarkanian - "when North Carolina commits a serious violation the NCAA is quick to make an example of Fresno State by making them forfeit scholarships."

There were drama queens going off the deep end getting their rocks off about what Kyle and Julie did..looks like whatever they did was overblown

and it probably isn't even that they "did" anything. more likely a case of not doing what they were supposed to do, if even that. Never understood why some wanted bad things to come out of the report. Everyone, including Coach Flood and Julie Hermann can move on.
