Sarkisian is out at USC

Cali,

SC has horrible leadership. Garrett and now Hayden are terrible ADs. Kiffen and Sark were horrific hires, baseball is a disaster and men's hoops (no need to comment).

Garett was awesome. He hired Pete Caroll and they won huge. Baseball? Who cares.

He also got the Galen Center built which blows away anything Rutgers could dream of.

Garrett's attitude was in part responsible for the horrific NCAA punishment. Galen Center is nice but not a showcase. Went to my son's graduation there from USC's SCA. The Kohl Center in Madison is much bigger and much nicer.

If he's so good how come he hasn't coached anywhere in 2 years? Shouldn't 'good' coaches get picked up after 1 season at the latest? Forgot he's .500 coach

ummmm, because he's getting paid $3M+/year not to coach.

The moment the Bucs contract runs its course, Schiano will land a good HC gig.

And as a fanbase, if Schiano isn't coming to Rutgers, we should be praying for him to go to somewhere like Southern California, because if his new school is geographically relevant to the "state of rutgers", he'll destroy us in recruiting.

Whatever. He hired the guy who brought them to a level of success most schools could only hope to achieve. He is viewed very highly by those who matter there.

I've read Kyle Whittingham from Utah is someone they could go for and I could see that. He's lost coordinators over money, still kept chugging though, so that's not likely to happen at USC. Is he like Patterson at TCU or would he leave Utah.

I wasn't sure Patterson would leave TCU but I actually think Whittingham could leave Utah if Utah doesn't pony up enough, specifically for his staff.

Kyle Whittingham

I guess you haven't seen pictures........
Yea I can see how easily they'd be confused. They're like doppelgangers, lol

Whittingham is the coach at Utah since Meyer left. He was the DC before Meyer came on board at Utah and was promoted after Meyer left for Florida. He's done a solid job there. Beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl one year and has had a lot of solid to good seasons there and a very good one so far this year. Low maintenance guy and after Kiffin/Sarkisian I'm sure that would be welcome.

Doubt he'll be on USC's short list, but name mentioned.
We might think Greg isn't being considered by the schools for the HC position, but media types seem to think he might be a pretty good candidate.
>If USC wants to go an NFL retread, as it did with Carroll, it should look at Greg Schiano. He's tanned and rested after his firing from the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

To those who want to knock Schiano, consider this: The guy won at Rutgers.<

Time to renegotiate Kyle Flood's compensation package to increase the buyout. I think USC's going to come knocking!

I plead guilty. I did not look at pictures. But in my defense, there is probably some PC issue and I didn't want to get banned from the board (or worse!) if I referenced "the black guy" or "the white guy"

(Oh, please, Kyle. Don't be Asian...)

I'm sure there will be calls for Hayden to leave, he has made some mistakes while he has been the AD.
In the past he received the benefit of doubt .

He is very well thought of at SC, just not with the coaching search. He is doing a lot of good there that the alums recognize. I wouldn't be surprised if they took this decision from his hands and left it up to their big boosters and some form of an internal committee.

They aren't going to miss this opportunity to make a splash.
