As far as I am concerned...Rutgers Football just got a BIG POSITIVE JOLT with Ash...and Hobbs for that matter IMO. So Schiano found a job...great for him! For Rutgers to get big...be "big time"...recruiting and "on the field" play...we will always be challenged...have to deal with big hurdles. Let's not be intimidated/ annoyed at things that we can't control. Let's work extremely hard to jump these big hurdles...and just focus on kicking some a$$!!!

I agree. Schiano is so long ago in my mind. Part of history for sure but does not define our history. He is just a proud footnote of the history of Rutgers!

Let Schiano be. He is at that school in Ohio now. That is a competitor. He is NOT a football god. He was a great coach and had success at Rutgers but he should NOT be revered. He was just a successful coach. Along the same path that Lou Holtz had at Arkansas.

Let's get fully behind Chris Ash! It is time to embrace the future! How can we help Coach Ash?
By being verbally supportive. Not second guessing the administration! Not letting the Star-Ledger set the agenda!
Not letting the naysayers have the last word! BUT by bring positive in recruiting. By being positive in his hiring assistant coaches. By being positive in his recruiting players!

It is our time to step up in the world of college football. We HAVE a clean slate. Let US make the most of this time and delete the negativity! PLEASE!

I couldn't agree more. Gary is yesterday's news. We have a new sheriff in town and he will get us to the next level. Something Gary couldn't ever do.

He had a nice run here and was able to fix the Shea error, he even gave us our 15 minutes in 2006. But, it wasn't like he was winning championships or anything. He meant more due to us being is a no name conference but those days are over.

We are in a real conference now, playing against elite teams in every sport. You have step up your game like Wsoccer did this year, reaching the final 4 for the 1st time ever and finishing ranked 4th in the national or Wrestling who is in the murderer's row to end all murderer's rows but they got ranked in the top 10 nationally. Now with Rutgers finally letting go of the past and creating a new future, football will now have a chance to fix the Flood error and finally step up as well. No one said it was going to be easy, but it is not impossible.

Fight or Flight!

Great post,Southern.

I'm sorry but having a coach who has a relationship with every hs program in our state hurts our recruiting. Time will tell how much of a hit it will be.

We can step-up negative recruiting against Schiano too, his coaching track record has plenty of failures along with success. Every school does it.

Scarlet Scourge,

You are absolutely correct! It is definitely time to MOVE ON...lick our wounds from the damage of the Flood "error" (as you stated...lol!)...and get BACK IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION...and get towards being even bigger than we were during Schiano's years. We CAN do it IMO!...and I believe that Ash is the right man.
