My friend told me there is a used/new shoe drive for the game Wednesday. Can anyone confirm? Any info or links?

no idea. there was supposed (?) to be one against Minny and I never saw a darn thing at the game.

RUpback,
I have not heard of one for this game, but NO ONE around me at the Minnesota game knew about that one. You may want to send an email to Mike Greengarten at Rutgers . He has changed positions at the university recently, but has always been GREAT at getting back to me for various things. His email is mgreengarten@scarletknights.com.---1984, I usually like to give people a lot of slack, but the shoe drive for the Minnesota game was a mess. First, hardly anyone knew about it. Second, hardly any of the arena STAFF knew about it ! I usually go in the left set of doors because there are no lines. When I walked in carrying a bag of four pairs of shoes (have a brother-in-law with plenty of money who buys shoes and gets tired of them quickly, sometimes only wearing them once) to donate. Not only did the ticket takers not know anything about it,but I then asked two Rutgers staff people inside the doors who did not know about it. Since I knew the donation boxes were supposed to be blue, I walked around the "concourse" for a while looking. I finally found the blue box behind the cameraman who is in the handicapped roped-off area. I am sad to say there were only two bags of shoes when I dropped off my donation. The volunteer by the box was so grateful, he made me feel like I had donated a kidney. I really hate the phrase, but somebody dropped the ball on the whole event.

@RU_PAYBACK Rutgers does a horrible job of advertising their charity events. I never know until the day or 2 before the food drive at the football games. Found this on a fan Facebook page

No kidding. I was bringing my 27yo son and I told him to bring some since he has way too many. I busted his balls when he forgot and then he busted mine right back as we walked in a found ZILTCH.
