We’ve been linked to two other guys (Kyle Lofton and Dom Welch) since then, seems we’re keeping options open for another guard. And who knows what the Bryan Antoine situation is. Seems like we’re not finished
Rutgers needs a prototype power forward who can score and rebound.
Not going to get that player. We needed the same thing last year and struck out with Agee. That’s the only type of player we will get to fill that role.
That's a problem, especially with Cliff most likely leaving after this year from what folks on this board speculate.
Then we have major minutes to sell to a big man in the portal. Wish our high school recruiting would pick up, however.
We’re probably not done at all. But what we want and what the portal transfers want are two different things. We’re more likely to get a Swiss Army Knife guy that can fill in at forward and center and hold the fort. You’re not going to get a big wanting to play 10-15 minutes. That’s not why they entered the portal in the first place.
There are minutes at the power forward position without a returning player to fill that slot with scoring .
Reiber is the backup center and may play a little at the 4. Barring a transfer Hyatt is the 4 this season.
The difference is Hyatt can guard from the theee point line to the basket. Biggest question is can he put it all together on offense.
I agree with you. Basically, we replace Harper with Hyatt (big net negative) and Geo with with Spencer (hopefully a wash). If we get Caleb back. It’s not horrible. If we don’t get Caleb back, we probably get a poor man’s Caleb in the portal.
Keep in mind, kids on roster have another year in the system & off season to improve.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves.
Cliff will play this season and since the season hasn't started yet, don't start trying to make next year something to worry about.
But remember, when one leaves , there has been cases of programs being able to replace the talent that left with new talent transferring in , HS talent recruited and other players on the roster that step up and make the program better.
So don't worry, Pike will handle it if Cliff's play this season merits 1st round draft status.

Saying Cliff is leaving after next year is very premature.
He'll likely be in a similar position to RHJ last year with deciding between likely 2nd round pick or return to school.
He'll be turning 22yo going into the 2023 NBA season so it's not like he'll be a young prospect.

There is no power forward worthy of starting.The roster has a surplus of guards and small forwards.
Yea it’s not impossible we go with a small lineup around cliff depending on how everything plays out. I think Hyatt and reiber will be given an opportunity but they will have to produce to keep their minutes.
Yup, you get good players then figure out the combos later. If he is definitely visiting that’s big news.
