Sit Dylan

You're 110% throwing shade at the kid, concluding, without any knowledge of what his condition is, that he's simply not tough enough to play well through his injury. You should just stop continuing to make dumb, uninformed posts on this.

Maybe he was fine while Carino was there. Maybe he tweaked the ankle again later in practice or later in the day. Anyone who has ever rolled an ankle hard like he did should know that these things can be very touchy. Also, presumably, the team doc would be the one to clear him to play/practice and if he was cleared to practice/play, then it's not Pike's fault that DH gave it a go. And if that's the case, it doesn't mean DH came out because "he didn't want to play" - it's far more likely he tried his best, but the pain was just too much and he and Pike realized it and sat him down. It is fair to ask whether it would be better for him to shut any activity down until he's healthy again.

Bottom line, though, is none of us "knows" exactly what the situation is, so making definitive statements about the situation is not justified.
Get a grip.

Of course it is all speculation. I haven’t seen anyone saying they know with certainty what is going on.

Its an online message board. A place for everyone to share their opinions and observations . And it is based on my observations, Dylan is not a tough college basketball player.

Sorry if that offends or embarrasses you, but it is what I think.

So, your “speculation” is that he’s not a tough player. As long as it’s what you think it’s perfectly ok to disparage him.

Sorry to offend you also.

Also, sorry Dylan Harper. You are one of the best players I have ever seen play basketball. Just wish you toughen up a bit.

Our chances to compete and make noise in the B1G tournament (and we can) rest with Dylan being an energetic 110 percent…period end.
For those who believe Dylan playing at the percentage he is currently is still best for that goal are incorrect.
Sit him out and practice your rotations without him, no speculating no game time decisions.
He’s out until he’s big time ready

Why is he practicing if he is hurt?
i think alot of collusion between Pike, Harper handlers and Carino...they want to portray he is all ready to go

there is no way a player recovers that quick from an ankle injury like Harper suffered at Penn State, is 100% to go at practice and then lame for the game the next day

The RU messaging has been brutal this year now 2x with Dylan and it really stinks

Exactly.

SOMETHING stinks here.

In my opinion, it is Harper playing things safer than most, which is fine considering the amount of money on the line for him.

In the end, this is a moot point because he has another handful of games for us then we will be very very far in his rearview mirror with a mess to deal with.
unfortunately you are right and in two months he is gone and never coming back and Pike has a mess to rebuild the program back from a third straight ncaa miss

Responding to R1766U: If Harper was “playing things safer than most” he would have been in street clothes so you couldn’t get hurt, not taking the floor with a bad ankle.

Once again proving that we don’t deserve nice things. We really don’t. Love how many times this board has turned on Ace and Dylan. Truly pathetic
Nobody is "turning" on him. At least, that's not the vibes I'm getting. It's just that at this point he might as well sit until he is 100% so we can give it a go in conference tournament, if we even make it. It's painfully obvious he isn't himself playing with ailments.

I’ve seen several posts questioning his toughness. Which is bizarre coming from fans with zero knowledge

So fans aren’t allowed to make assumptions about players/teams based on their observations?
It’s just bizarre.
We really are running out of people to blame here when we start questioning the toughness of one of the best players in the country

Agree he needs to rest it for a couple of weeks. Saw him after the game and he needed help from a couple people (including his dad) to the bus. Very hobbled. Guessing he misses the next 4 games or so.
Unfortunately, and I hope I am wrong, but already out of the NCAAs in January, I do fear him pulling a Mag and just saving it for next year's season (but in NBA). I do wonder if his draft stock is dropping some though. I would be a little concerned about his health. He does have asthma too I believe.

Nobody saw him limping across the foul line to talk to another player.? and that was early after he went in.
Saying he practiced fine and was good to go..my ass. Regardless of where it came from. But I trust little coming from the bench's mouth anymore.

Completely agree on this. I still believe this team can beat anyone when healthy and getting some production from the non-stars and could easily make a run in the B1G tourney - we haven't even had a healthy Harper and Bailey together for more than 4 B1G games - which we're 3-1 in (PSU win, OSU loss, then the wins over UCLA/NE).

Funny, same guys who said gut it out and play for your team and what's a little flu now want Dylan to sit out. Macho, macho men--- they want to be a macho man.

In my case I never thought Dylan should be “gutting it out” with the flu. I also didn’t think he would be 100% today or close really. When I saw him limping around pregame I knew he would be ineffective if he played. Why can I see this and our coaches can’t ?

Dylan’s kryptonite is and always has been his toughness. As soon as he’s even remotely dinged, he’s a shell of himself. Last year at Bosco he was skipping games.

He’s just not the guy to go gut it out when he’s less than 💯. Not his game.

I agree with Zap, just sit him until
he deems himself 💯. Then and only then will we have the GameChanger this team needs.
Terrible take!

No one should’ve been surprised he couldn’t play. You have a full week of practice and warmups. Why was the outcome of how’d he look a surprise.

You practice like you play, if he wasn’t full go in practice (my assumption), sit him until he’s full go.
Announcers said he looked ok in practice 🤷🏻‍♂️
