Yes, we are 10-1 and there is nothing but great about that when you consider our history,
And, we all know our OOC schedule is damn soft, but we have been dropping steadily in the standings for, at least, the last three wins. Our last win over FDU dropped us just short of 20 spots which is really something. We were at #76 before the game and are now at #94. One can only imagine the drop had we lost since FDU is ranked way down the list.
Fordham (5-6) will not doubt be the same kind of thing if we win as they are ranked very low.

As great as winning is for the team and fans, how the "experts" view our record should be a solid moment of clarity for all of us. For me, this team has already well exceeded any of my pre-season expectations. How could I be any less prepared for winning so many games so quickly based on what we have seen for so many past seasons?

The real question for me is what will the rest of the real season be like? This team is still working on who and what they are. There are certainly going to be games that will show just how young and less skilled than our opponents we are. But, we really seem to have a solid coaching staff that knows how to manipulate the team in and out of game situations that we just have not seen in such a long time.
This staff is in the same learning curve as the players. Will they all just get better together?

Will we be over .500 at the end of the season? Is there a chance at the NIT? Will we not be at the bottom of the BIG when it all ends? All questions that really remain too hard to answer right now as we have been beating teams that pretty much already know where they will be in March. Just so nice to already be in a situation where we can still hope for some positive answers to these questions.

Our strength of schedule is atrocious, for sure. But it is just what this team needed to gel under a new and much improved coaching staff. The true measure of the team's overall improvement will come now with road games at MSG and the Rock and the start of our conference schedule. I think a win at Fordham and 5 conference wins are realistic. If Pike's crew somehow does better than that they will have significantly overachieved. I can't wait to see how competitive RU is in conference. I'm cautiously optimistic. If RU stays healthy and shooting improves, there could be a couple upset wins in the future. If we continue to (a) throw up bricks from outside, (b) have trouble defending the 3, and (c) have trouble shooting FTs, 5 wins might be overly optimistic.

NJoy the ride. It's finally great to have a winning basketball or football team (though we're not too many years removed from a winning record/bowl game). I think the RACs gonna be a lot of fun this winter and my gut is that we'll get some (limited scholarships) great recruiting news by the end of the season.

because RU has beaten a schedule of sister of the poor ranked 346 and maybe De Paul who will finish last in the Big 10 is the best win, no one nationally is going to care until RU gains a top 50 or hell even a top 100 win. For this program compared to other years its awesome, for the nation, its so what

Its very hard to start predicting wins when he havent beaten a team with a pulse and the one time we faced a big time program we were run over by a 17-0 run in the 2nd half that sealed the outcome by the 10 minute mark in the 2nd half

Why "sobering"? I don't think anybody here - at least those not 5-beers short of a sixer - is expecting more than a couple of wins, let alone miracles, come B1G-schedule time. Focus on the positive, for now, the rest will come in time!

People getting overly-hyped about a 10-1 start should look at the records of the other teams in the B1G, and try to see where we can get 4 or 5 wins. B1G looks very strong; everyone except us seems to have a signature win or two. At least. This is a transition year--maybe the staff can bring in a big-time prospect or project based on the start. But currently, we don't have the roster to run with nearly any of the other B1G teams, and the B1G is loaded with fine coaching staffs. Going to be a process.

Moving forward fans need to focus on where Rutgers can win 6 more games to ensure a winning season.I think Fordham and Penn State are must wins to get to 12 wins .How well Rutgers plays against Seton Hall and Wisconsin could be telling signs on future success against B1G opponents.

Its very important to having a winning season in order to keep the attention of top tier recruits and ultimately a verbal commitment.A upset win against a top ranked B1G opponent would certainly help perception of the program.
