First game at the RAC in fifteen years....
1. Souf Mensah had not a minute in Saturday’s game, unless I missed something. Just gotta wonder what the plan is going forward for him.
2. The lineup we went with at the end of the game was the smallest I’ve seen this year. Will we see it again?
3. Coach was frantically holding up a whiteboard at the end of the game when we were on offense-something about “stacks.” Can anyone enlighten us as to what coach was trying to get us to do?
4. Sa did well as part of the four headed monster. Good to see.
5. It’s kinda sad to see Bullock so out of shape and so disengaged during warmups. I had heard he was going to transfer after last season - that didn’t happen. Just wonder if he will transfer this year; it’s obvious he will never be a part of the team.
6. This stuff about Deshawn being a detriment is nonsense. Defense and rebounding are what he brings. That being said, Id love to see him ditch the three point shot.
7. I don’t know if we are an NIT or NCAA team this year. But I do know we will finish over .500. Would bet money on that.

NIT at best tbh. Agree with all your points.

Bullock looks like commenter on the board as opposed to a D1 athlete rn. Wth is going on with him.

Mensah played one minute against Fordham and 0 against SHU. Tells me that Pikiell is done trying to get any positive value out of him this season, we'll see if he's back next year. I want to see him against Stony Brook and Hartford with big leads to give Geo a break before B10 play. After that I suspect he'll be glued to the bench except in case of extreme foul trouble.

for the millionth time...no one should EVER say in December or even January no to NCAAs, but yes to NIT.

One play we ran form the white board was Michigan State. Will we run it in Lansing?

Youll see Souf for spot minutes during B10 stretches. Hope we keep a combo Eugene/Mike or Corey/Baker on with him at all times so the O doesnt get stagnant.

The lack of Mensah PT is concerning...Pike is lacking trust with him and rightfully so as he has struggled. We lack depth at guard and Corey and Geo will be gassed in BIG games as the season goes deeper. We really need another reliable ball handler!! This will become a problem in BIG play. Damn

I raised some of your concerns about Mensa / Bullock about 10 days ago / had somebody questioning if we should make comments like that etc.: it's a freakin fan board!

"Bullock hasn't played at all. Is he hurt? Does he have the ability (NOW) to contribute? If not let him transfer.

So far Mensah has been a disappointment other than an assist against MSU. Not sure if he can shoot...but he either throws the ball away, get's blocked, or turns it over. He should transfer out as well."

It's not that you can't critique their game or comment on their skill, it was the names some people were calling them. If you are going to criticize at least do it with some decorum or class. These comments are not necessarily directed at your comments as I dont recall specifically what you said.

Could not afford to put Mensah in against Seton Hall. A couple of bad plays could have easily cost us the game. There will be spot minutes in future games. It’s obvious Pikiell knows what he’s doing here.

I’m not sure if he’ll transfer out unless he wants to drop down to D2 or D3. I think another D1 scholarship will be hard to come by.

Mensah is a liability and gets his pocket picked every game he plays

Coach P is amazing but all his choices...and "chance players",,,cant be a lock.

Think of coach P's other guy,,,GEO.....and praise the heavens!!!!

I still would like to see Eugene at the three for a couple minutes a game, taking some of Geos minutes and giving him a breather.

Guard Guard Eugene Freeman DoorSa'n is not a lineup I like, BUT.........

I agree with you because we need to limit Geo and Corey minutes and in most games that is the optimal way to do it.

Worth noting Eugene went the last 15 minutes of the game without rest guarding Mostly Delgado. Adrenaline or in very good shape

If Bullock cannot get into playing shape, that might be grounds for pulling the scholarship. With Mensah, we have to live with the whiff.

Unless coach says you are not going to play next year, maybe you should think about transferring to a school where you might see the court.

As has been said before, taking a chance on Bullock made sense because he's from a premier NJ program and was closely allied with a top recruit. Mensah, however, is a total head-scratcher. Wasting a scholarship on a guy who had no legit P5 offers, bad JUCO stats and who does't even pass the eye test on film is almost inexplicable, especially since decent JUCO guards are relatively plentiful. Souf appears to be one of the few mistakes Pike has made. With all the great work he's done, he's certainly entitled to a mistake, but I'd love to know how it happened.

Why doesn't he play Dadika to spell Gio ? He looks like he knows what he's doing and doesn't turn the ball over.

Dadika showed me more in those few runs he got last year than Mensah has this year. He could actually handle and maintain the ball. Mensah is a walking turnover and has the body of a fullback.

There were a couple games when Pike threw Dadika in there for meaningful games last year to shake things up or prove a point to the starters.

Been asking for this for awhile now. Geo needs a little break here and there as well as Corey. Jake would do a better job and he should be playing.

It's so refreshing to see a thread about Mensah, Bullock, and Dadika. These 3 guys are the key to this season, and the future of RU basketball.

Actually finding a way to decrease Corey and Geo's minutes (especially Geo) is pretty key to the rest of the season.

There's the risk of running Geo into the ground by the latter half of conference play...there's already been a game or two where you could see the fatigue in Geo's legs and shot.

Mensah was supposed to be the guy but it's clear he's not.

I have no problem for anyone on the team taking an uncontested shot from the arc - especially Freeman.
You should. There's a reason that shot is uncontested.
Why not dribble and step in two steps and make it a more comfortable shot. For both 3’s he chucked up, he had 10 ft all around. Easily could step in a bit to get in better range . . .

Not sure there is another school in the country that devotes as many keystrokes to their 10th, 11th and 12th men as we do
There isn't. I'd bet the house on it.
There’s a reason we’re the best fan base in the country! J/k . . .

Didn’t FDU only rotate 6 vs us and we wore them down significantly over the game? That’s a fan base that should be sweating their entire bench with some vigor . . .

Want to make a Big Ten guard very happy? Tell them they will be defended by Dadika 10 minutes a game. He's a good kid in a D3 body. He is not going to keep an MSU or Purdue guard away from the rim or off the boards. So stop with the Dadika in the rotation talk, it's silly (you sound the the "Cioffi will be in the NFL draft" crowd cause he can shut down Peppers) :grimace:
