I just saw Duggan tweet that due to injuries the format to spring game may not be game like do to not enough healthy OL.
Last year it seemed we only talked about injured shoulders all spring and many thought it must be S&C. Is this a problem again!?

The spring game is for the fans, not the coaching staff. Anything that looks close to an injury on anyone who may contribute next year will not play. I think coach Flood plays it to safe with injuries during the season, no way he is going to risk players for this spring game.

What this actually points to is that we may be lacking quality depth on the OL and that may not bode well for the fall.

I think we'll be fine for the fall - they're keeping some out just as a precautionary measure.

Shoulders were two years ago. RU was pretty healthy last year. I think only James (helmet to the knee) and Peele missed at least half the season. I really doubt S&C could have prevented Patton's kidney injury. There may be 1 or two more.

Should OSU fire their S&C crew because of Miller and Barnett's injuries?

Why risk turning a minor ding into something that'll hurt the player and team just so he can play Friday? Keep anyone who's hurting out.

Yeah its the injuries and S&L and nothing to do with the fact that the 2011, 2013 and 2014 recruiting classes have a total of 5 OL still on the team o_O

Lister missed the whole season with a foot injury. Barnwell hurt his shoulder twice, IIRC. Huggins was out for a long while, Boggs was down for a while.

Huggins injury was left over from '13. Lister was injured during Spring Practice. The other two, and the one's that hurt, happened on the field.

Rutgers knocked out Michigan's top two RB's in less than a quarter. Does that mean their S&C is substandard?

The game is played by large, strong, and fast young men with bad attitudes (in a good way). It's legal violence. Injuries happen to all teams. People are just more aware when it happens here.

S&C has a slight effect on avoiding injuries. The reality is that you avoid injuries through luck, and you overcome them through depth.

Apparently some don't follow the sport nationally. Most teams have numerous injuries during spring...Illinois lost their top WR to an ACL for the upcoming season. I'd rather have most of the starters play sparingly in the spring game and rest up. It's football...players get banged up. The S&C program deserves credit for last season. On a relative basis, RU remained very healthy during last season...especially on the OL and DL. Can't really expect that every year.

There's a trend of the OP starting threads mocking a certain poster no longer with us. This is another example. Pretty immature if you ask me.

It's easy to figure out for anyone who a) can think rationally and b) spends far too much time on these boards.
