The problem with OSU is that will go for it on 4th down pretty much anytime they reach mid field or better. That puts a lot of dress on our defense. Darn near impossible to stop them from getting 10 yards on 4 tries given our weak defense. We'll need a ton breaks for this game to be in doubt in the 4th qtr.

Turnovers, 3rd down efficiency, and yards per rush are what stand out
The yards per rush is skewed because Nova was sacked a lot which brings down the average drastically. If you look at the numbers of the RB's yards per rush they are actually pretty decent and that was with Peoples being our starting RB. Considering their defense is actually not as good this year I think we will be able to run on them at least somewhat effectively.

B1G rankings relative to your questions:

Rush offense:
#1 Ohio State 242.1 yards/game
#3 Rutgers 199.2 yards/game

Rush Defense:
#6 Rutgers 126.2 yards/game
#11 Ohio state 158.7 yards/game

Pass Offense:
#5 Rutgers 249.7 yards/game
#8 Ohio State 213.4 yards/game

Pass Defense:
#1 Ohio State 143.6 yards/game
#12 Rutgers 321.2 yards/game

Pass Efficiency:
#1 Rutgers 156.0
#4 Ohio State 137.8

Pass Efficiency Defense:
#3 Ohio State 94.5
#14 Rutgers 149.5

Turnover Margin:
#8 Ohio State -1 (-0.14/game)
#12 Rutgers -4 (-0.57/game)

Both teams have a favorable match up running the ball and Rutgers may and probably will run the ball even better than they did last year. They're also going to have a hard time stopping Ohio State's running game. Looking at the stats, in my opinion it's going to be hard for Rutgers to do significantly better in the passing game than they did last year, but they should get some opportunity off play action if the run game works as well as it may. Both teams suck at protecting the football.

Stop them a couple of times and they won't.
