Students(most of them) apparently are not mature enough to tailgate, most of them are not old enough to legally drink also. I say let them keep their student area though, keeps them from taking away from others enjoyment in the other lots.Adults - are you really trying to tell students what to do in regards to an activity that draws you to home games as much as students?

This is what I am talking about!!Dude!!Literally what are you even talking about dude
This is such a broad, and incorrect, generalization. But we live in a country that allows you to say dumb things like this. So go on believing that it's the 99% of students causing an issue and 1% doing the right thing when it's actually the other way around.Students(most of them) apparently are not mature enough to tailgate, most of them are not old enough to legally drink also. A couple of reasons: 1) Too heavily policed now. Even if there was no underage drinking the size of these tail gates would probably warrant a citation. 2) The size is a problem. People would complain(even in the pay lots) if there were large "out-of-control" student tail gates next to them. 3.) It would be up to the organization hosting the tail gate to pay for the parking, and while it's not much it would still have to be accounted for in their budget for the year. 4.) The RAC is too far from the stadium. Why not go to the pay lots like we did as students? Johnson park, Rac, etc
Literally what are you even talking about dude
My point is why do you need to have hundreds of people at the tailgate. Why not grab 50-100 friends of said group and caravan in. That's the problem, everyone thinks you need this massive club like tailgate, which is not necessary, very messy, and brings too much attention. You can hop from tailgate to tailgate, there does not have to be just 1 area to hang in. You don't need an organization to host it and pay for it, you have everyone chip in a few bucks and call it a day. You can have 20-30 decent sized tailgates and hop around.A couple of reasons: 1) Too heavily policed now. You just did the math in your own answer... 30 groups at 100 each = 3000 students wondering back and forth through the lots hopping from tail gate to tail gate as you mentioned. Now add in any one in those lots that is not a student and you get complaints, tickets, and eventually the students stop showing. My point is why do you need to have hundreds of people at the tailgate. Yeah but 3000 students spread among the other 40,000 tailgaters is a lot easier to handle than 1 or 2 tailgates that have 1,000 a piece. Once massive group is intimidating and a daunting task for police and other employees to handle. But 30 smaller groups... not as massive. You just did the math in your own answer... 30 groups at 100 each = 3000 students wondering back and forth through the lots hopping from tail gate to tail gate as you mentioned. Students are not going to show up. Many frats taking this stance. That means no sororities. Which means all parties on college ave. Oh well. If we win they will show up for the next game.
Have you missed the past few years? Students used to be able to do this. Then some got out of hand and donors complained. They don't want student tail gates mixing in with theirs and its probably better off that way.Yeah but 3000 students spread among the other 40,000 tailgaters is a lot easier to handle than 1 or 2 tailgates that have 1,000 a piece. Again, I am all for the student tailgate, just trying to offer up other solutions. You already have thousands of people walking around and hopping from tailgate to tailgate so why not mix in with the crowd and not draw so much attention. You can throw the ragers back on campus after the game, which starts at noon.

26 year olds are presumably out of college and working full time. Students aren't. I didn't say it was wrong of the donors, but it's also not wrong for us to want somewhere we can tail gate and not bother anyone else or be bothered by anyone else.In life you pay $$$ for exclusivity. If those people weren't cheap and donated more to get that added benefit this wouldn't of happened and the program would have more money!
If 26 year olds can do it anyone can.
Yes and I have had my tailgate destroyed by a student tailgate next to me, but still never complained. Again those tailgates instead of being 50 or so people were 100s of people who trampled other people's tailgates, blasted music like it was a club, and left a ridiculous mess behind. My point is that maybe you should be toning down the tailgates to smaller groups with out the club atmosphere, get banged up, go into the game, cheer until the end, AND THEN go have you big ass parties and get hammered. No need to be hammered for a noon game. Don't get me wrong I am most certainly pretty lit up when I walk into a game, but not fall down drunk. I am just suggesting smaller lower key tailgates as to not bring attention to yourselves for drinking underage.Have you missed the past few years? Students used to be able to do this. You're not making any sense. It's not worth responding to you.Yes and I have had my tailgate destroyed by a student tailgate next to me, but still never complained. Again not arguing with you just trying to offer solutions, instead of a boycott. Not sure what doesn't make sense, but I can't make it any easier to understand. You're not making any sense. It's not worth responding to you.

Got it, I misunderstood. Sorry. I agree with that sentimentMy post has nothing to do with student income. It has everything to do with season ticket holders in blue lot who prefer to complain about lack of exclusivity rather than pay the universally accepted currency of exclusivity - $$$. If 26 year olds in their limited time alive understand this life concept, one would think, people with more life experience would understand.
