I posted this poll on the football board and was told this in a reply :
“Ask this same questions to fans of other sports and you will get a very different response. Ask this question to people who thought they would never live long enough to see Rutgers athletics raised over $100 million to build things they have been begging for decades finally come to pass and they will give you a different response.
Ask a football fan? it will be all negative because Ash sucks at his job, and they want Hobbs to fire him already."
So will put the same poll here
do you support Hobbs or feel he's not a good AD
if you voted in any other board, please don't vote here and if you're not sure state it in a comment because it's not a voting option.

seems like this board likes what Hobbs is doing
The football board has him ahead , but around 44% are not in his corner.

As a basketball fan, I certainly support Hobbs. I think he made a good hire in Pike, and he got the much-needed practice facility moving forward. There pretty much isn't anything to dislike about him.

(I didn't respond to this post on the football board, but if I did, I might give a different answer. Hobbs' hire of Ash looks like a bust. His decision to give Ash a guaranteed extension as part of the contract negotiation looks like a bust. And although Pike looks like a good hire, he hasn't actually succeeded yet. As far as capital improvements, that is nice, but it really isn't the primary measuring stick of an AD. If it were, then we would all be praising Fred Grunninger who got the RAC built, got the Hale Center built, and oversaw the first Stadium expansion. The primary measuring stick of an AD is success in both Football and Men's Basketball. And despite what some football-only fans believe, it is not OK to be good at one and suck at the other. You have to be at least competitive in both to be passable. Right now Hobbs doesn't look like he will manage competitive in Football. So barring some miracle turnaround by Ash, or a great hire at the end of next season, it looks like Hobbs will be a failure just like the AD's who preceded him. At best, since there is a chance for football to turn around or Hobbs to make a great hire next season, you can say the jury is still out on Hobbs.)
